I might use the game nights for sleep if it means the Hawks wins. Good to see a win. I see the Hawks once again let up a goal only a few seconds after scoring one, that habit needs to go ASAP. If it would have tied the game, then the game wouldn't have gone the Hawks way.

I thought forwards were back checking at a much higher rate as well.

Was a fantastic game played by the Hawks. Great defense great hitting ( Hawks are so much better when they play physical). Lucky goal by the Wangs or else Corry may have had the shut out he played well again. Hands down he has been the surprise of the season so far in my opinion (hope i didn't jinx that). Wasn't sure if he could handle these many games and esp the ones he has been playing. He is ready for his NHL career to begin!!!

Bickell continues to pick up some of the slack with Hossa and Kane both out. I hope to hell he keeps this up when they return he has been fantastic lately. As has Toews as has Skille. These are the type of players I love. Hard working every shift guys.

Great win Hawks. Lets build on it this time and lets not return to lazy mistake hockey again.

Skille played very well. But everyone played great tonight. Crawford looked great and he was getting some traction with Sarah Kustock. Although I heard Kane brought her a birthday cake. But either way nice to see the Hawks play a total game.

Can't blame them - she's a really pretty lady.

YEP!

Sharp.... could have scored 4 goals.... Skille.... could have scored 3 goals.... Bickell..... could have scored 2 goals.

If the Hawks played like they did tonight with Hossa/Kane in the lineup... this could have been a blowout..> WOW! COLOR ME IMPRESSED!

Also... you can't get a game recap without me praising John Scott. But honestly... this is one of the first times I can say that John Scott had an actual good game... he really did look good out there.

Funny Q plays them less minutes they play better?

The ENTIRE TEAM played for 60 minutes. Back checking, clogging the zone, and being aggressive. It was NOT that Seabrook and Keith played better. And to top it off Seabrook was the 3rd star but it probably should have been Campbell.

Might have been his best game of the year. Q had a great game as for time management. Taking minutes from Keith and Seabrook and wow, they played better as a pair. Soup with 26 minutes TOI and holy crap two awesome passes one of which ended up in a goal.

This is how this team needs to play if they want to continue winning because the Wings did NOT play a poor game by any means.

IDK if it was previously mentioned if it was I apologize but the internet is being incredibly slow but I think getting guys like Pisani and Johnson in the line up helped tremendously tonight. This team has really missed those defensive forwards that we had on our 3rd and 4th lines last year. Bolland finally looked like he was getting under peoples skin and playing his game which is very important. Forwards were much better which in turn helped the D. Campbell was actually skating the puck into the zone tonight because he knew the forwards were finally playing defense.

I mentioned that a few games ago and agree. It's one of the reasons are D has looked so bad at times. While we didn't lose primary players we did lose some of the better defensive forwards in the league. Ladd, Madden, Frazer, Versteeg and even Buff are/were very defensive minded. Tonight we saw them clog the zone, be aggressive on the forcheck, and in general persue the puck, verses sitting back and allowing the Wings to bring it to them.

That alone with Hossa and Kane out, which increases the Hawks possession verses the other teams puck possession are the reason we have lost many of the games we have.

Amazing only one penalty called tonight on both sides. A way the game should be called. I thought as usual Detroit got away with some clear interference calls, but hey, that's what they do.

Honestly I'd be ok with Johnson in the lineup and with this club, he's a good asset to have. He won 5 of his 7 draws tonight too, and gives us a lot more options with our lines, and he's as close as we can get to filling the gap that Madden left. Of course it helps he went to North Dakota

Hawks were that tenacious team we saw win the Cup last year. In all zones. Why that team doesn't show up every night, I don't know. HUNGRY for the puck, and aggressive. We played very well against a great Detroit team. Crawford should be the starter from here on out, unless we have back to backs. He has earned it. Not to say Turco sucks or anything, but Crawford is the better goalie right now, and is making the big saves that teams need to turn a game around.

I guess that leaves only me... what will I do without IHN chat!?

You aren't banned either, lol. You guys crack me up, like we just ban people for the fun of it.

Anyway, I thought the Hawks played great. Johnson looked OK at best to me, although I do think the addition was a great choice. He was quick, won some faceoffs, made some defensive plays... but I also noticed he gave the puck away a few times -- gonna happen considering its his first game. Bet he becomes a pretty important member of the team by the end of the season.

When Hossa/Kane get back, what does this mean for a guy like Dowell? Looks like he might turn into this years Fraser.

Hope Bickell keeps it up and shakes that inconsistency tag off him. Brouwer was good again, and its nice to see CokePepsi hit the scoresheet without Hoss.

I had a Wang fan buddy over last night to watch the game and he said the Hawks looked just like last year's team in last night's game....
