I base my opinions on what I saw. Stats don't tell the whole story.

If I'm giving my opinion, it's my opinion. I don't need stats as a crutch.
Ok, well, aside from stats I watch a lot of basketball and I still say Lebron is better than Scottie. So.......?

This is the quote. I guess he backtracked, but I didn't see that.
He did back track because he knew he was wrong.

When lebron can go undefeated in the Finals....nevermind.

I don't think he is. He's good, but the other superlatives are earned in the Finals.

The guy onced scored 29 out of 30 points in a 2007 ECF game in (a post-Ben Wallace) Detroit.

He rained terror on both Boston and Chicago this post season... in the 4th quarter.

Kobe Bryant has had far more terrible Finals games than LeBron James. Hell, just take that 2004 Finals series and you can get more terrible games from Kobe in that one series than LeBron has had in 10 games in the NBA Finals.

But an opinion that I form by watching, that I can also back up with stats. This shouldn't be so hard to understand.
Like I said, your opinion. Your opinion isn't better than mine because you choose to use google for some stats and I don't.

Was any of that actually IN the Finals? No.

Dude wasn't paying attention, he was too busy whining about the refs cheating to notice Lebron dominating on both sides of the ball, but then again, Lebron was supposed to be able to stop Rose...because he's taller (what kind of stupid shit is that?).

Prope bases his opinion with facts. Your's is based on emotion, Glide. I'm inclined to go with Prope if this was a debate...
Oh well, I guess I'll start using google too so I won't sound emotional. It's not really an opinion to me. It's just "here look at these numbers, they prove he's better!"

An opinion is what one think, and how they feel. What he is giving is an observation which is a totally different thing.

We should take into account that LeBron James never had a supporting cast that was capable of winning a championship, realistically, until this season. He carried a team featuring LARRY HUGHES, Drew GOODEN, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas to the Finals... that is an epic accomplishment in itself. And everybody knew the Spurs would demolish them.

Rose shot 6% from the field when guarded by Lebron....

Again, heff. You must look at the whole picture. Ill never understand why thibs continued to run picks for rose. All it did was create a trap situation cuz the heat didn't respect anyones else ability to score. In other words, lebron didn't do it himself.

lebron 6' 8", Rose 6' 2", he should shut him down.
most 6'8 guys cant stay in front of rose who's the fastest player in the nba..

They invented the term Point forward to describe Scottie.
ya..thats cool..but lebron is a better passer than scottie...sorry

I do remember him being called lebrick so shooting, I don't know. All the things you describe are a result of him being more physically gifted.
physical gifts are an aspect of talent...im not quite sure what your evidence is for pippen being more talented...just because someone calls lebron lebrick doesnt mean he's a bad shooter..its called trash talking

Maybe, but before the season started or ended, the debate was lebron or Kobe and that's it and it was like that all season. Like I said, they were pretty much handed to him by default, like Dieon Sanders' DPOY award in Dallas.

ya it was..and looking at the overall body of work those two seasons and lebron was better

No, that was for someone else. I was just showing how I can disagree and not resort insults, unlike some blowhard around here.
oh..whatever then lol

I don't mean a thing without the ring.
charles barkley, patrick ewing, karl malone, and a few others disagree...but im not saying a ring isnt important

They should

Kobe's career number sin the finals are pretty much equal to Jordan's worst Finals series. SO I wouldn't call him great in the finals when I can't even recall any one game from his finals appearances.
kobe did average over 30 PPG in one finals..and has performed relatively well in the finals..he's not jordan..but he's been a leader and clutch..you really cant knock on kobe because of his finals performances

lebron isn't that guy. Never was

i agree..i think he CAN develop into that guy..the question is does he have the effort to

How about 2 crappy Finals, does that count?
it's definitely a significant issue..but that doesnt define who lebron is

They were expected to beat the Bulls, no surprise there.

many would disagree..

The Finals is where it counts. Wade and Bosh showed up, lebron didn't.
i wouldnt say lebron didnt show up for the finals(although "showing up" is completely subjective and has a lot of different contexts) but yes he underperformed and wade and bosh didnt..but again you cant look at the finals and immediately come up with conclusions about a player(btw lebron did have a triple double in the finals and of course no one says anything about that)

So his constant failures on the biggest of games has no bearing on him being the best to you? Even though he fails EVERY YEAR!?
he had an excuse when he was with cleveland(although getting to the finals and even ECF with those shit cavs teams is not a failure imo..btw did you watch when lebron put 48 and a triple double on detroit...lebron hasnt been all a complete wash in the playoffs...lebron's story still has chapters to be told, i will say that much

Then the league needs to look elsewhere, because lebron isn't it.
then who is? dwight howard? kevin durant? wade?

The facts really aren't on your side in this debate though.

I love Pippen and hate LeBron but the only thing Scottie has over him as a player is his post-game and defense. It isn't as though LeBron would dominate Scottie but he is so much better as a scorer and everything else is pretty comparable.

Ok, but I'm proving my points with the stats. You're not doing anything to prove your opinion is right. That's the point. The stats aren't a crutch, they are there to show facts.

My opinion is that Lebron is better than Scottie. I do research by looking at statistics and watching games. I can use both of those to conclude that Lebron is better than Scottie.

This isn't exactly rocket surgery.

You can point at the 6 titles Pippen won as Jordan's #2 man. But you can't really say that LeBron James wouldn't've won all six (and maybe in 1994 too) if he was in Scottie's place.

From dictionary.com...

1. A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof:
2. A judgment based on special knowledge and given by an expert
3. A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing

Sounds to me like you're the first, and I'm the second.
