Andrew Shaw
scored a goal and registered an assist to extend his point streak to four games. Shaw's assist was also the first of his career. He has six points in eight games and while he's not likely to keep that pace up, the fact that he's playing on the second line should ensure that he'll continue to chip in offensively while providing fantasy owners with a healthy amount of PIM. If that's the kind of player that you're looking for, then Shaw is might be the best option not already claimed by a rival owner. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Jimmy Hayes
has four goals and seven points in 10 games with the Chicago Blackhawks. Those numbers become more impressive when you factor in that Hayes has averaged just 11:28 minutes of ice time per game. On Wednesday he recorded two points while logging just 9:41 minutes. Hayes isn't a bad guy to pickup in the hopes of riding what's left of his hot streak, but we wouldn't count on him to maintain anything close to this pace for the remainder of the season. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Bryan Bickell
spent Wednesday's game in the press box. "He's had some stretches where he's been OK, but we're looking for more from him," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. Bickell participated in Chicago's previous 16 games. He's been a big disappointment this season with just four goals and nine points in 40 games. He might bounce back in the second half of the season, but right now we can't recommend owning him in standard leagues. (Source: Chicago Sun-Times)

Kane 30th in the NHL in scoring.

Unacceptable for a guy with his skill set.

It's not like Kane is even having a bad year. He just isn't scoring. Points aren't everything

points arent everything with certain players. A player whos main assets are goals and production are different than a guy that is maybe less offensive but has a balance of other assets.

Again, in general with any player on any team, you can cherry pick "positive play" all day long. anyone who says a player is "playing hard, is working the boards and stuff" is reaching for something to offset the critiquing of that player.

I could understand saying that Kane is having a bad year if he was making a bunch of mistakes and not even getting chances, but Kane gets tons of chances. Right now he's having a cold patch and he'll be out of it soon.

Patrick Sharp
(wrist) is slated to return to Chicago's lineup during the team's three-game road swing through Western Canada. The Blackhawks will begin a nine-game road trip in Vancouver (Tuesday), Edmonton (Thursday) and Calgary (Friday) after the All-Star break and Sharp is expected to travel with the club. Sharp has been out of action since Jan. 8 because of a wrist injury. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Michael Frolik
spent Tuesday's game in the press box. Before Tuesday, Frolik hadn't been a healthy scratch this season. He recorded 45 points in his rookie season and has been on a steady decline since. He has five goals and eight assists in 47 games this season. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Marian Hossa
Hossa's point streak has been extended to nine games going into the All-Star break. Hossa has three goals and 11 points in that span. He's tied with Pavel Datsyuk for third place in the NHL's point race with 53 points in 49 contests. (Source: Chicago Sun-Times)

Jonathan Toews
might be ready to return from his upper-body injury, which is believed to be a hand or wrist issue, in Chicago's first contest following the All-Star break. The Blackhawks play against their bitter rivals in Vancouver on Jan. 31 to begin a nine-game road trip. Toews is expected to travel with the team. He missed Tuesday's game with the ailment, but it isn't thought to be serious. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Hope Toews and Sharp are back soon. Hard to beat a good time like Vancouver without them.

Brendan Morrison
will return to Calgary for the first time since being traded to Chicago last week. Morrison did not see the ice time in Calgary that he saw in his first game with the Blackhawks so the move should do wonders for his career, not to mention that the Blackhawks are a lot more likely to play in the post-season than the Flames. "It's always fun to play against your ex-teammates and your friends," Morrison said Thursday. "It's good that I get a chance to do that pretty early. I haven't seen any of them. I haven't seen anybody. I'll see them for a little bit (Friday), then it's time to move on." Morrison is playing with Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp and will have a lot more fantasy value with the Blackhawks.

Brunette fan club fall off the tracks? Told you he was done.

And I said Brouwer would outscore him too.

For the record - who is this "club" that you keep referring to Joe?

I was getting all set to suggest that they try the guy in net - nothing else is working at the moment (and it probably wouldn't be any worse). But I can't now. :wah:

You don't win anything. The season is still going and there is nothing wrong with brunette. He is exactly what we expected him to be a PP goal scorer who chips in with his forechecking and board battles, you know the things that really weren't part of Brouwers game. But keep making stupid posts with no meaning

Ray Emery to start again in goal for Chicago Blackhawks - ESPN Chicago

CHICAGO -- Mired in a season-high five-game losing streak, the Chicago Blackhawks will start Ray Emery in goal Tuesday against the Colorado Avalanche, his second straight start in place of Corey Crawford.

"[Emery has] played very well basically every time he's been in the net for us," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "He's been consistent, he's been solid, predictable, dependable. The guys played well in front of him the other night. He earned another start."

No surprise there.

Hope the team can get on a roll in front of Ray.
