He'll be called up soon, at this point Sep 1st. There's a very good chance we'll see Campy in LF, Jackson in CF and Colvin in RF. I absolutely do see that. It'll be nice to see an all most all prospect line-up.

Castro SS
Barney 2B
Jackson CF
LaHair 1B (not really a 'spect)
Vitters 3B (I know we won't, but I'll just say it. But I do think a 3B will be called, just not sure)
Colvin RF
Castillo C
Campy CF
P (maybe a young pitcher, JJ?)

I'm not sayin't this team will do good, but it'll be fun to watch.

Just the 6th inning, BJax already 3 for 4, average up to .316.

All singles.

Flaherty actually got a hit, a homer.

Dave Bush Elects Free Agency
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [August 11 at 2:52pm CST]
Dave Bush has opted out of his minor league deal with the Cubs to become a free agent, according to Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald (on Twitter).

The Cubs signed Bush last month after Texas designated him for assignment and released him. The 31-year-old posted a 5.79 ERA with 5.5 K/9 and 2.2 BB/9 in 37 1/3 innings for the Rangers as a middle reliever and spot starter this year.

Though Bush pitched primarily out of the bullpen for the Rangers, he returned to the rotation for the Iowa Cubs. In 22 Triple-A innings, Bush posted a 6.14 ERA with 4.9 K/9 and 3.7 BB/9 before opting out of his contract.

Big loss there LMAO

The Chiefs place OF Borges on the DL and 2011 17th round pick OF John Andreoli replaced him.

do u have a list of where all the draft picks have been assigned?

Most of them went to the AZL, especially the ones who signed on or close to the signing deadline. But ones who signed earlier are either playing with the Hawks or the Chiefs.

But I'll see what I can find out.

A player to watch out for who's playing for class A is a Cuban defector Frank Del Valle. He's throwing 98MPH and has given up only 8 hits in 19.2 innings.

He's almost 22 years old... He's gunna have to make a jump to get back in the age limit.

Wait, someone retired right after we drafted them and they got their signing bonus?

Yeah he signed and then retired. But the signing bonus was not granted to him.

He retired becuase he wanted to explore other options and probably knew he wasn't gunna make the majors.

So he signed to try to see if he;d get the signing bonus then?

Del Valle is one of many interesting arms the Cubs have below AA. There is actually a lot of pitching talent coming through the system right now. It is just unforunate that all the talent that is a year or two away grades either as a reliever or backend of the starter.

Since Del Valle was just signed this year and has already moved from Arizona to Peoria, I think he is doing fine. The Cubs have a history of pretty agressive promotions. If Del Valle continues to shine, he will get moved through the system quickly.

Out of curiousity where have you read that he is throwing 98 MPH? I am just curious because that would certainly make his stock higher since a lefty that can throw upper 90s is worth his weight in gold.

Is there a website I can check daily for updates. Or is bleed cubbie blue the best site?
