Finding suckers to take your bad contracts is a lot easier in OTB than in real life as Jim Hendry can probably tell you.

I would never compare GM in real life to GM's on mogul. Im just saying my philosphy worked well on OTB since u pointed it out

I am believe having a good system is important. BUT for big markets the system is way to trade for proven All stars. Now for small/medium markets they are important to use in the MLB

Ricketts: "You just traded Brett Jackson for Yuniesky Betancourt? Are you out of your fucking mind?"

daddies3angels: "Don't worry, Tom. He's just a prospect!"

:troll:

P.S. I know you wouldn't do that daddies, don't worry, lol. But I do like to :troll: sometimes. :shifty:

So, what you're saying is Brett isn't quite worth Yuniesky? Maybe we should wait till next August and send Maples with him... just to make sure we offer up enough.

:nothanks:

p.s note the sarcasm dripping into a pool of irony (as previous GMs seemed to love to trade top prospects for nothings like Betancourt)

All you ever do is troll, because you don't have the mental capacity to hold an actual baseball conversation.

I might be wrong, but I think 2seams point was that previous Cubs GM would trade prospects for nothings like Betancourt. Maybe 2seasm can correct me on this one, but that is how I read it.

Will any pitchers be ready to go in the 5 spot in the rotation in 2012?

Well it depends on how many spots we have to fill. If we only have to fill one spot next year I think the answer is yes that someone out of Wells, Cashner, Jay Jackson, Casey Coleman, Trey McNutt, Nicholas Struck, etc. would be able to fill the fifth rotation spot. Asking for more than one is where things get dicey.

I don't want Coleman in the 2012 rotation...I rather have another young pitcher.

IIRC it was right after that draft that the cubs signed wilken

Glad they figured something out lol......I understand that alot of minor leagues dont make it but for Cubs only to have 1 guy in whole draft make MLB and he really sucked is not a good sign.

John Stockstil wasw the guy in charge of the draft after Hendry if I remember right. He was terrible and he got a job with MacPhail in Baltimore after they brought in Wilken. The 06 draft wasn't much better but you have to remember they lost a ton of top picks due to free agent signings. Until recently though the Cubs would rank in the bottom of amatuer draft spending. The teams that don't spend tend to be toward the bottom as far as farm systems go.
