I'll admit he did help by bringing that pass game to get it out of our zone. Other than that he had like 5 good games, one were he posted 2 points the rest he was ok at best. I don't like his cap hit for the team for what he brings.

JewsSox? :troll:

:yep: LutheranSox actually, but whatever.

I would like to add on that he is definitely overpaid though, I'm not saying he is worth his contract.

If we missed out on Suter, i'd offer Carle a Keith type deal

In terms of what? Money, years, or both?

Personally I would pass on Carle as I don't expect him to be anywhere what he will probably get. I think he would get exposed a little and I don't expect him to play as well away from the Flyers.

Oduya is a decent bottom 2 defender, not top 4, and he's a good guy to have on your roster, but he's nowhere near worth the money we just gave him. End of story.

Well supposedly Parise will announce a decision later today. So hopefully this cocktease will be over soon.

I'd definitely take Suter over Parise.

We were 6th in the NHL in goals scored (tied with Detroit), and 22nd in goals allowed (with number 1 being the least goals allowed).

Our offense is one of the better ones in the NHL, but our defense needs help.

Posing a question:
In this scenario, are we cup contenders?
1) We get Suter and Parise, lose Bolland and Hjalmarsson (or whatever cap scenario laid out by icehog earlier)
2) Crawford "rebounds"

Absolutely.if you look at it just as a forward vs forward and D vs. D. Parise>>>>>>Bolland and Suter >>>>Hammer.

Still not sure it is enough to make us contenders though.

Really? Then I don't know what will.

I think the Blackhawks are pretty much contenders if just Crawford rebounds. Take out getting Suter/Parise. A full year of Oduya and Brookbank already helps the defense from where they were last year.
