  1. Chicago Blackhawks

For a team like phoenix or colombus their #1 task might not be winning the cup but increasing attendance and $$$

A team like the hawks with that strong core of players is trying to win

To me it should be the other way around.

Winning brings fans.

Not always. There are plenty of examples of teams that are doing well with fans not showing up.

Coyotes last year for example

lets cut out the "other" teams examples and such. the blackhawks are a different breed than the coyotes, or the white sox who are playing great and the attendance sucks. there is a trend with the blackhawks. as MCD has done in the past, make the event something awesome, market the shit out of it, not just players but about every element to the fan experience at a hawks game. he has made hawks games "the thing to do".

Let me know at the beginning of the season how much the hawks want to actually win. yes its one week in and to some "only a week" well a lot of players are gone this past week. if there isnt a significant move(s) made the teams number 1 goal isnt about winning.

There are exceptions to "winning brings fans."

If I'm running a team, the first thing I want is a winning product on the field/ice/court, since I can't really control whether or not the fans come.

Stan needs to stop drooling over these so called "prospects" & deal a few for a need.

They have gaping holes all over.

so your saying that because MCD has made a Blackhawks game the "in" thing to do in chicago, then they don't care about winning?

Im just trying to understand what your trying to say...

In response to Joe's post...

This I can somewhat agree on, we have alot of top 6 type prospects, but 4/6 top spots filled in Chicago for a few years down the road

He's already said that he's not interested in Chicago. So it's not worth even talking about.

No. Stan didn't try. And if he did, he wouldn't have come here. That's basically what it is.

Or maybe they just have a different belief on how to build a team then you do. Not right, not wrong, just different.
