Anthony Prieto, LHP. No scouting report yet. Guess we're getting into the bleh now.

This is kind of nice. Cubs basically got the best overall player still available and then kept cramming in the pitchers.

Here is an article I found doing google search. Here is some interesting snippets:
"He's got this effortless motion," Americas coach Jesse Muñoz said. "Being a lefty certainly helps, too."
Prieto, who has touched 90 and 91 mph, also locates his fastball extremely well, often on the corners and the lower half of the plate. He has a good changeup and has what scouts call a plus, an overhand curve, to go along with great lower-body strength.

So he's like a cheaper version of Gerardo Concepcion with a better fastball?

According to Bleacher Nation, Prieto was towards the back end of their top 500. First non value pick it seems.

Maybe they're hoping to get him under slot so they can pay more for the top guys, or the fourth rounder, Conway.

Yeah it seems like this is a guy they had a line on since it seems like a bit of an overdraft in terms of rankings.

I'm guessing they had a certain number of scouts and guys running around camped out on phones with speed dial making sure that player X would sign for $Y before they made the picks.

Well I am out for an hour or two. So someone else is going to have to carry the load about updating this.

Junior College Notebook 3/15 | Perfect Game USA

At the start of the 2012 season, Bellevue (Wash.) righthander Adrian Sampson and GateWay (Ariz.) righthander Trey Lang were ranked 1-2 among the nation’s top junior-college pitchers by Perfect Game. Neither has done anything to hurt his stock, but they are also not generating the same buzz as they once did, in large measure because of the impressive crop of junior-college arms that have sprung up around the country, and even in their own backyards.

...

Meanwhile, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Lang, a Northern Illinois transfer returning to his Arizona roots, was supposed to be the big catch among the prominent JC arms in Arizona on the basis of his superior work in the fall, even as he earned significant support from scouts as a power-hitting outfielder.

Lang has emerged as principally a pitcher this spring, though he has been difficult for scouts to see and bear down on in his revised role as his team’s closer. His fastball has been a steady 91-94 mph, but he has also stood out for the superior command he has demonstrated with his breaking stuff.

Stuff from Bleacher Nation on the last 2 picks:
6. Trey Lang, RHP, Gateway CC (Arizona) – Another hard-throwing right-handed pitcher for the Cubs, Lang is a top 200 draft prospect, and one who will probably be signing right around slot, if not a touch under. He’s a converted outfielder, so there isn’t much polish. As with many of the other pitchers, it’s all about his upside.

7. Stephen Bruno, 3B, University of Virginia – Hey, a positional player! Bruno was not considered a consensus top 300/400 type prospect in the Draft, so this pick could be a bit about trying to sign a player under slot (though Bruno is not a senior, he’s a junior). Bruno’s played around the infield, but missed the 2011 season with an injury. He’s a smaller guy – 5’9″ 165 lbs, but he had great numbers at Virginia this year (.370/.424/.559). Sounds like a vintage Theo/Jed/Jason pick.

Google reveals very little about Heesch although there are a couple of Youtube videos.
