This seems like a real longshot by the Cubs, but he could be a good one if they can find some extra cash for him.
Wiseman made the decision to play baseball at Vanderbilt when he was only 15. Based on where he is drafted, he might not be able to keep that promise. Wiseman has an athletic build and has incredible speed that will profile well in center at the next level. He has power that is created by bat speed, and he gets good loft on the ball. He has some swing-and-miss to his game and has a well-below-average arm, but many think that with some mechanical changes he could fix both of these problems. Wiseman is an excellent student with a great makeup, and if he isn't picked within the first few rounds, he could end up being a tough sign.

Round 27- RHP Tyler Bremer-Baylor University
Cubs drafted him a couple of years ago. Some old stuff from perfect game about him:
Tyler Bremer is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 210 lb. frame from Berkeley, CA who attends Berkeley HS. He has a strong, mature body, especially his hips and lower half. Bremer does a good job staying over the rubber in his delivery and staying tall. He has a rotational delivery and a quick arm stroke. Bremer's fastball was 87-90 mph and pretty straight. His best pitch was a curveball up to 78 mph that had late 12/6 type of bite and some depth to it. Bremer had good feel for his curveball and used it well. He also mixed in a couple of change ups. He's an aggressive pitcher who challenged hitters with strikes. Bremer is also an excellent student.

Round 30-RF Izaac Garsev-College of Idaho

Interesting guy from the sounds of this article. Apparently he was a pitcher and was hitting 92 on the gun earlier. He stopped throwing because his arm hurt. If he doesn't hit enough to make it through the system I am guessing he could try his luck at pitching again.

This is from an article on ESPN a year ago:
Built at 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, Bonnell is a duel position player who plays first base and swings a power bat while also tossing darts on the mound. Recently clocked in the low 90's, he was sitting at 87-89 at the College of Southern Nevada primarily due to him pitching in a game two days before the tryout.

Looking at a player with the physicality of Bonnell, scouts can only dream of the immense potential to come

Round 33- OF Thomas Pannone-Bishop Hendrickson HS, RI
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJVWwTlxXTY]Thomas Pannone '12 OF/LHP Cranston, RI - YouTube[/ame]
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB2bzzSmAbM]Tom Pannone (East Providence @ Bishop Hendricken 05-04-12) - YouTube[/ame]
Perhaps the most highly sought-after member of Rhode Island's 2012 graduating class, the versatile Pannone is attracting interest as both an outfielder, and a left-handed pitcher. Pannone burst on the recruiting radar after a breakout performance in the state championship series, where he had a homer and a double in leading Bishop Hendricken to the 2010 state title.

In the summer of 2010, Pannone was invited to the Area Code Games tryout at Bentley College, as well as the Summer Rivalry Classic in August. In between Pannone split time between Hoxsie Cleaners American Legion, The East Coast Greys, and the Rhode Island Rebels. With the Greys, Pannone traveled to East Cobb for the 17u World Wood Bat National Championships, and the World Wood Bat National Championship in Jupiter, Florida in October.

Round 34-RHP Christian Botnick-Norte Dame Catholic SS, ON
Perfect Game report:
Christian Botnick is a 2012 RHP/3B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Brampton, ON who attends Notre Dame Secondary. Big, strong kid with room to fill out. Pitches exclusively from stretch, throwing from 3/4 arm slot. Long, smooth arm action. Mechanics work well. Online delivery that he repeats very well. Fastball had arm side run and sat comfortably in the low 80s, topping at 85. Curveball at 71 has slurvy break. Good pitchability with raw stuff that projects.

Round 37-RHP Clayton Crum-Howard College, TX
Drafted him a couple of years ago out of high school. Here is a report a couple years old from Perfect Game:
Clayton Crum is a 2010 RHP/OF with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein HS. Medium athletic build, good strength. Fast arm from tight 3/4's release, gathers and explodes well to the plate, under control, throws strikes with consistent 90+ mph FB, touched 93 frequently, occ hard boring action on FB. SL is short and early, can be tightened up, change is best secondary pitch, good life at the plate. Showed strength/bat speed at the plate, good athlete who ran 6.79. Good student.

Round 38- CF Hassan Evans-Herkimer County CC, NY

They list him as a CF, but I have a sneaky suspicion that this is the reason we drafted him:
He is also getting a lot of attention from major league scouts because of his 96 mph fastball

Round 39- 3B Rustin Sveum-Desert Mountain HS, AZ

Nepotism pick

Perferct Game report from a couple of years ago:
Rustin Sveum is a 2012 3B/IF with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Desert Mountain HS. Slender young build, minimal present strength. Clean infield actions, moves through the ball well, stays balanced, second base arm strength, 7.76 runner. Switch-hitter, sound fundamental swing right handed, square stance, short line drive swing, good extension through contact, squares up well. Less bat speed left handed, rotational swing. Son of former ML infielder Dale Sveum. Good student.

It will be interesting to see who they are able to nab. They certainly followed the trend of other clubs of picking guys that ought to sign for cheap in the second half of the top 10 rounds. It will be interesting to see if the Cubs can get the cash to sign Wiseman. The article I posted had a pretty clear quote that Wiseman had a number and was telling teams that number. I am curious if the Cubs have some plan to be able to get him. You would think that they had some hope if they drafted him.
