Happy the Bears made a move to lock down the most important position on the field for the next 7 years.

Personally I've never questioned Jay's talent, but this year furthered concerns about his ability to stay healthy. Either way, having a good QB under contract that gets hurt occasionally is better than floundering between one year bandaid type jobbers or potentially putting the Emery/Trestman future on the shoulders of a draft pick.

Very happy Slauson and Jennings is back but I wonder about Tillman?
I also think Tillman is gone. Thats just my opinion. Age is not on his side and he could probably get a better deal elsewhere while the Bears rebuild the secondary (well the whole defense).
This makes the morning bittersweet for me.

If I would have heard the words "Charles Tillman re-signed" and "Mel Tucker fired", my old ass would be doing back-flips this morning.

Im a Bear fan, and thusly by default a Cutler fan...Wish I could say the same for you

I care more about the C on the side of the helmet than the name on the back of the jersey.

And this is coming from someone who supported Jay when the season started - you seem to also forget that in your idiotic fictional narrative you have going on in your head about me.

Wow...7 whole years of bliss

Watching Cutler's turnovers the last 5 years has been bliss for you? Mediocrity is bliss, as long as it's Cutler.

You've just essentially admitted that you don't care about results, all you want is Cutler playing. Well done.

Carrie Sayers on the score has been terrible today, and one reason you have to be careful of what you hear on the score. She said Cutler was signed to a 7 year deal and 18 million will be spread over the first 3 years. Wow, you would think someone on the score would correct her.

He has indeed.

Really, out of everyone who has been on one side or another on this one (and we all have some blood on our hands), he really is showing he is going above and beyond as king troll. Surprisingly, some people who I thought would be right there with him have actually toned it down and are being pretty good about it.

But BearsBud stands alone as an imbecile.

The reaction of some people here is like we won the Super Bowl. We signed a average to a slightly above average QB to a long term contract. Woo Hoo. A 30 year old QB is now going to "progress" and not throw stupid interceptions. It sounds like we signed him to Romo type numbers. Bah

I'm more relieved that Emery didn't do something stupid like try to find a hit or miss talent in the draft and went with the smart decision (although I do agree 7 years is a LONG time).

Can't copy the tweet cause I'm stupid. But the deal is reported as 54m for first three years.

It's pretty easy to tell, by reading how people write, who is reasonably intelligent and who is as dumb as a box of rocks. Pride might love Cutler but he's a smart guy. Bearsbud and desperado, while perhaps not bad guys, are profoundly stupid individuals. None of this surprises me.
