Let me break it down for you, Bearsbud. If Cutler wins a Superbowl, you will be right and I will be wrong. Not before. Since he still hasn't achieved a thing of note in 8 years, I am still correct until shown otherwise. Same goes for desperado. You aren't "right" until Cutler proves us wrong, and I still don't believe he ever will. So stop acting like you idiots have won anything. 3, 4, 5 or 7 more years of mediocrity and failure doesn't make you right, it actually enhances your wrongness.

Except you're not right on the basis that saying a particular QB can't win, because it's an illogical concept.

Cutler will never win a SB,but the Bears just might with him on the roster..QB's dont win SB's..Teams do..And teams win SB's with bad QB's, so the Bears have a good chance with Cutler who is an above average QB

Its rare that that happens. The last team to win a Super Bowl with a bad QB was the 2000 Ravens. The rules have been changed a shit ton to favor QBs and the offense since then.

I mean:
2012 - Flacco
2011 - Eli Manning
2010 - Rodgers
2009 - Brees
2008 - Roethliesberger
2007 - Eli Manning
2006 - Peyton Manning
2005 - Roethlisberger
2004 - Brady
2003 - Brady
2002 - Brad Johnson
2001 - Brady
2000 - Dilfer
1999 - Warner
1998 - Elway
1997 - Elway
1996 - Favre
1995 - Aiken
1994 - Young
1993 - Aiken
1992 - Aiken

Dilfer and Brad Johnson are the two worst QBs there.

If you cant understand why were extremely happy with a 7 year signing of the QB we have been defending against constant attacks. You need to put the pipe down

I can understand why you are extremely happy, I guess, but I don't see what it has to do with being a bears fan. I think you guys believe you won CCS or something, but Bearmick hasn't "lost" so I guess it just seems kind of dumb.

Not backtracking. We've been very open and upfront on it.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense understood your anti-Cutler position.

The problem that the other side have is that some of you are so deeply entrenched with your anti-Cutler agenda, you root for his failure over the Chicago Bears success. Hell, I would have preferred that Tillman was re-signed instead of Jennings, but I will never root for Jennings to fail.

@JasonPhilCole: ESPN reporting Cutler deal to average just north of $17.6 per year. That's a good price for #Bears, even with $50M guaranteed.

Ew, not a big fan of that yearly average. Hopefully the last two years are like 25 million per year which is driving up the yearly average.

I thought this was a joke when I heard it. Emery really does think cutler is a franchise qb
And he controls who gets the money. Kind of an odd thing that a GM has control over right? The message board ought to dictate where and who gets the money.

LOL!

This is just my opinion, but I'm of the mind if Flacco can win a SB then so can Jay...I think the last game with Green
Baht could end up being q turning point. He played really, really well and up until that final drive he had something like a 148 QB rating in what was probably the biggest pressure game of the year, especially with the controversy with McCown...I think it was a pretty clutch performance and had us in position to win. Growing in the system should help quote a bit and if he's got a 90ish QB rating there is no reason a team can't win with that.

As I said, my opinion but I do see both sides

Rothisburgers first superbowl he was horrendous, flacco is awful now and got hot at the time and I don't need to say anything about Eli. It's a major plus to have an elite QB but good teams win superbowls not QB's. Hell when Peyton won his he barely had to do much with Rex sucking and the Colts running game killing us.

Didnt say he was, just saying how difficult it is to win with one, which BearsBud said happens.

All the QBs on that list though minus Dilfer, have had better overall seasons than Cutler has ever had though.

Who actually roots for Jay to fail? Come on now. I think most people would be quite happy if Jay actually fucking won. It's just that when he inevitably fails, some people take comfort in shitting on him for that failure.

Jay Cutler is a real life fantasy player. If the Bears get beat by the Pack and Rodgers is on your fantasy team and has a big game, you at least have that to be somewhat happy about. Cutler is that for many people. They want the Bears to win but if they get their ass handed to them then well at least the guy they think suck ended up sucking.

Good for Jay. And I'm happy this isn't dragging far into the offseason. But that is a lot of money (rumored to be over 50 million in guarantees) for a guy closer to the middle of the pack than the top.

I don't think that's true, but even if it is who cares? bearmick isn't causing Cutler to fail, Cutler is. What anyone else here thinks has no bearing on what Cutler does or doesn't do. He has to play better regardless.

Don't disagree. Flacco's regular season last year wasn't bad either 3817 yards, 22 TDs 10 INTs. Something Cutler probably COULD do, though with a high INT count I'm sure, if he could stay healthy. We saw 23-15 from him in 2010.

And until this season, Eli's numbers were always a lot better than Cutler's.

But a lot of this speaks to Cutler's health, we havent seen a full season from him since he first came here in 2009.

Scoot, I agree that a "Bad" QB probably cannot win a SB. Looking at that list, I would put Cutler at (or above) guys like Flacco, Eli and Ben. That is 5 of the last 8 SB winners.

While winnng the big game is the ultimate goal of every NFL team, making the playoffs and winning should be pretty high on the list also. face it 31 teams every year end up not winning the SB (and 31 QB's). Hell, even the great Peyton manning, Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees have only won one SB.

I do not think it is fair to any QB to rate his success or failure on winning a SB. it is very rare. All I want from Cutler is to play well enough to give us a chance in the playoffs. The rest of the TEAM has to pick it up also.
