Can you say HUGE caps comin?! Could be like 80 mill in 2016!

Anyone think that Stan is not trying to lock the 19/88 into a deal TODAY?!

wow, that's some exchange rate they got up there....

$5.2 billion Canadian (roughly $4.9 million in US dollars)

hahah

anyway, it sounds like a lot, but in reality it isn't. On it's face, if every dollar went to the teams it's only about 13.6 million more a year. but that's not taking into account that it's not actually an increase of that, but it's only an increase if it's more than current projections already expected. Then you take into account all the other hands in the till and then the revenue sharing, taxes, ect... I bet it's really less than 10 mil extra a year for each team more or less. That's going to help the cap, but we're not looking at a huge number.

Being Teuvo in and give him some sheltered minutes, keep Shaw on the 2nd line while he develops. The ShawKane Saddemption line was our best the last 3 games. Keep it going as they obviously have good chemistry.

Let Smith keep playing on the 4th and move him up when needed as well as Morin (for Zeus and Steeg). Ditch a dman (Seabs or Rozi, not Leddy!) and bring up one of our young dman from Rockford (Clendening?).

It's not like this team needs any key parts. We were one goal away from another year at the SC final.

Can we float

ShawKane Saawesome line... Wait, that doesn't sound as good as it did in my head.

If Morin can pick up where he left off at the end of the season along with Smith and like him or not Bollig, the 4th line should be a huge improvement over last year. If TT as a rookie, can be better than MH and considering the team will be hungry for the cup. :happy-sunny: Start planning next years parade. :happy-partydance:

Keep the lines the same? Who do you think Q is? Darryl Sutter?

I don't understand the 'get rid of Seabrook' talk. I agree that major changes do not need to happen. I say goodbye to Brookbank, Roszival, bring up some kids.

I don't think that it's about his play but simply his return and flexibility then with the rest of the team moves. I would imagine if all the moves that people want made could be done with keeping Seabrook, folks wouldn't want him to be the one to move?

Seabrook will be making $7MIL plus on his next deal. He'd get a hell of a return, especially if that return could include someone like Kesler.

Pat Kane lost his shot at MVP because he had to play with Handzusless.

That shit has to stop.

What I meant was, say in an imaginary land there was no salary cap anymore... he wouldn't be moving anywhere.

Yeah. Of course if the 'Cap stays high enough perhaps they can afford him.

Ohhh indeed, I know, all I was trying to do was explain why everyone was talking about getting rid of Seabrook, it's not that he's a bad player or no one likes him or wants to see him go, but as far as business decisions go, he may be the most reasonable.

Seabs signed his 5.8M deal in the 2012 year, meaning the cap was 64.3M, and he took 9.02% of the total cap. If the cap is any more than 77.6M in 2017 and he signs for 7M he will have less of an impact on the cap situation as an individual than his current deal did in both 2012 and 2014 (both caps were 64.3M). The real question will be cap growth and how his game changes between now and when he's 31.

Barry Rozner was on WSCR this morning and claimed that the Hawks would be listening to offers on Sharp. Rozner's a dbag but he has a long time connection to McDonough.

Was this around 2:00PM?

I think he said... of the core... Sharp would be the best piece to move for a good return.

Sharp would be the piece to move if such a move would be made. But such a move isn't going to be made.

Maybe he's Patrick Sharp's NMC and he's saying "Why would I allow myself to be traded off a team full of friends that contends for the cup every year, and will continue to do that for years to come"
