Sale will have a serious injury sooner or later. Great player, but its coming. I would be more inclined to get Quintana. Wouldnt cost as much and I feel safer with him. He is what 25? This is just all non sense cause I doubt we try for either. Just talking.

Cubs are in a good position. Lets hope they make the right moves to make next season exciting.

Everyone gets injured. Not worried about Sale. History shows that when he feels something it is addressed with rest asap.

Q is available, but the Cubs wouldn't start with Bryant so it's probably a not going to get a discussion going.

No team would start with Bryant for him. Just saying.

Bryant and Russell will both be top 5 prospects next year. Bryant already is 1 or 2 depending on what rankings and Russell is going to into the top 5. Soler, Baez, and Alcantara will be off the list.

It should go something in this order

Bryant
Russell
Almora
Schwarber
CJ Edwards
Pierce Johnson
Billy McKinney

They all should make the top 100 list. Two guys I can see making a big jump next year is Eloy Jiminez and Gleyber Torres. Both 17 year old kids that are already on couts radar but could really start turning some heads next year. Both with a ton of potential.

The Cubs could most definitely land Quintana without Bryant. The Cubs could trade Bryant to multiple teams for a young ace around baseball. Quintana although very good, is no ace. No way am I saying the Cubs should do this, just that they could do this

Quintana is too inconsistent for me. Though I think Bosio could make him a better pitcher.

We'll all love the games he throws a 3 hit, 9 strikeout shutout. But he mixes a start he cant get out of the second inning right after.

White Sox will definitely be selling on Danks. I don't like his shoulder situation.

I only brought up Sale because if the cubs were serious about making a push, that would be a guy you go for. Now I'm not a fool, he won't come cheap. Nor do I care to wonder what the White Sox board is like.

If the Sox are listening/taking offers because they elected to go the route of rebuilding, it would be stupid not to talk to them/see what they want, must have, and not want in a potential deal.

I'll certainly take a Chris Sale with a major injury coming over a Cole Hamels. Plus how do you know he has a major injury coming? Because of his mechanics? His 3/4 arm slot throw?

You know what that throwing style reminds me of?

Johnson's had a quite successful career relatively free of injuries.

Uhm...the experts put him as top 5 lefties in all of baseball but yeah, he's no ace.

Something Coop can't do?

You clearly aren't talking about Quintana or Sale.

His shoulder is fine and he pitched well in sept, but I don't see a team wanting that contract.

They did go the route of rebuilding. It took a few months to retool. :)

why all the talks about the cubs dealing for Quintana or Sales ? didn't realize the sox were offering them up this off season and if they truly are, that would be pretty dumb on their part.. 2 good young starting pitchers they can build off of going forward...

unless I missed the MEMO, seems pretty silly to discuss something that's not going to happen...

Really? Sale, Kershaw, Price, Lester. Absolutely. The rest of that rest?

I mean, Liriano?

I know you and Dabs are grade-A Sox haters but at least pretend to be objective.

Quintana was 9th in fWAR amongst starters in baseball this year.

It is funny watching fans of a team that has had a great run of good fortune on that front complain about injuries.

Give me a break. Avisail Garcia was lost for more than half the season, that is a wee bit more significant than Austin Jackson missing two weeks.

But its okay, I loved seeing the overrated Pussies get swept.
