So our 4th rounder added to pick #75 (our 3rd rounder) would only move us up 10 spots from 75 to 65? Is this from using the Jimmy Johnson handbook? I feel we could get a higher pick than 65 but have no idea obviously.
Unless you include one of your two 2025 second rounders

Now imagine a scenario where you drafted Bowers and he's not Kelce and Bears passed on the next Justin Jefferson... or (insert HOFer here)

Fantasy land is great!

You are missing the point. The point is the decision has nothing to do with whether Bowers is a luxury pick or not. It has to do with how the Bears feel about him.

If they view him as a Kelce type and the BPA at 9 then they should take him. If they have someone else rated higher then they should take that person. At the end of the day you trust your evaluations.

Wow is that really true? he refused interviews at combines and now not even working out at his pro day. Red Flags for potential problems in the future for sure. Caleb did all interviews at the combine and as far has holding off his medicals the bears already has access to his medicals already.
I think it sucks for his Ohio State teammates. There won't be any GMs or head coaches at the Ohio State Pro Day because Harrison isn't there.

Bears take a trade for QB, move down with added picks and fuck the Vikes. It gets everyone in need of a QB trying to trade with NYJ for the last of the top 4. Vikings take Penix or Nix at 23.
Kevin O'Connell could make Penix into a superstar with those weapons he has on offense and the way he can sling it.

If your scouts are telling you Bowers is a Kelce type talent then he is not a luxury.

Imagine a scenario years from now where people say we passed on the next Kelce because we signed Gerald Everett to a 2 year deal.
Yeah, as I review it, luxury is probably a bad way to describe it. I was more trying to go for the idea that I think a lot of us would like to see WR1-3 or Edge1-2 or Alt but they are already gone in this scenario.

So how about this, since it is supposed to be a nightmare scenario.

Instead of saying he is a luxury,

Let's say the Bears just blow the evaluation on him.

That would defiantly be a nightmare scenario.

Maybe he runs just a tick slower then everyone expects at his workout and or they think he will lose a tick or two as he bulks up for the NFL. Possibly they see him as a little short for their taste. Maybe he doesn't fit their type. I'm not saying these things are true I'm just giving examples how they could walk themselves down the road to totally blowing the evaluation.

Perhaps it a good sign that it seems necessary to go kinda over the top to find a nightmare scenario for pick #9.

Bears need pass rushers more than WRs or TEs. Turner, Verse, Latu, Robinson, and Newton in that order.
I'd personally rather have Darius Robinson than chop. I think chop will be a pass rush specialist solely and will probably be very good at that but I think Darius will be a more complete player who can be in on all downs without being a liability vs pass or run (that's if they trade back into the 20s)

The Bears are not selecting a WR at 9, so three WRs in top 8 is ideal, not a nightmare.

Also, Darius Robinson can move inside!

Only 3 QBs selected before our pick.

MHJ, Nabers, Odunze gone

Alt, Turner gone
I’ll add to the chorus that Verse would be our pick.

I’m really not sure you can say that. It seems the way they’re going, but we don’t know.

Him and D.Walker could play with each other (No Homo) since both can play DE/3T.

i dont personally care, because i dont pretend to know what is going on inside the mind of america's most athletic early 20s kids, but can someone from the "caleb williams is a terrible and uninterested person" crowd who wanted to trade no further than three for savior marv harrison jr explain to me why he didnt attend his pro day today? seems pretty entitled to me. i wont say much more because i dont want his father to shoot at me with a gun, but how do you people rationalize what you say?
