I'd personally rather have Darius Robinson than chop. I think chop will be a pass rush specialist solely and will probably be very good at that but I think Darius will be a more complete player who can be in on all downs without being a liability vs pass or run (that's if they trade back into the 20s)
Robinson is being viewed to some teams as a 3T now or a DE in a 3-4 scheme. He didn’t test well for a 4-3 DE at the combine.

Which situation to be exact? The hold out or ………..

Too soon?
Holdouts are pretty much a thing of the past. I remember the players didn’t exactly welcome him to the team with open arms and often defense targeted him in practice. Most of it was because the players loved Thomas jones

Apparently JJ McCarthy did well at his Pro Day building off his combine performance.
The Vikings who have now 2 1st rd picks are rumored to be trading into the top 10 to select him.
The Giants have also shown interest.
This could cause a player to drop and or allow the Bears to trade back and still get a player they want.

Don't think he makes it past 6 with no trade up so someone is definitely dropping

Do something along these lines. Make trades and trade up with sacrificing some picks next year to get the D-Line right for good enough years. Plus even getting an O-lineman. Next year, attack the offense even more!

Just pick Turner, Verse, or top 3 WR.

Most rational people probably see this and say high IQ... I could see haters spin this into a selfish thing though, haha.
It just shows 2nd level awareness which is a huge attribute for a QB.

What if a guy within the tier for both B and C are there, who do you take?
I go OFF. Our DEF is already good. Get a Blue Chip at WR/LT. I'd rather upgrade at LT and protect Caleb's backside than add a DE.

You really think Poles is still in the business of a WR? Any one of those guys would be the #3 while we've already got two quality pass-catchers at TE as well. It's be a terrible ROI, at least in year 1, which Poles seems to be setting himself up for with the Keenan Allen move.

Also, there's been talk that Fashanu could fall a bit. Are you really wanting to draft the clear second-best OT in the draft and put one of your better current players in Braxton Jones on the bench because of it?

The most glaring need on this team right now is an edge rusher opposite Sweat and Poles has positioned himself perfectly to (possibly) get himself the pick of that litter. I might be setting myself up for disappointment or maybe Poles is pulling a fast one on all of us, but at this point, it's hard to see him going anything other than Verse/Turner/Latu at #9, and my guess is Verse.
I wouldn't say DE2 is glaring need. If we didn't have Sweat, sure. Jones has been a decent LT, but you want ELITE LT. At the end of the day, like I said, I'd prefer to go OFF, but I wouldn't be upset at DE, especially if the top three WR are gone.

When people pointed out that Justin Fields had one of the worst WR group in the league and that when he finally got a good one(D J Moore) he had a career year, the response was : "more excuses."

Shouldn't the same apply to Wiliams?

Fields career year still had him as a bottom 10 starting QB.

Williams still had 30 TDs and just 5 Ints without Addison.
