So draft day hits and the first 8 picks goes some combination of:

The 4 QBs. MHJ, Nabers, Odunze and Alt.

No team wants to trade down.

Who’s your guy at 9?
If you meant no team wants to trade up to # 9 and we have to make the pick give me Murphy the DT, Verse DE, Bowers TE,
Tuaga LT or wait for it JPJ at C.

Latu depending on medicals. I also think Murphy is a great fit but likely too high for him. I bet he gets more rep before the draft.

Someone with Turner's measurables and pedigree is not available at 9 very often unless they have notable issues. Gotta take the guy who has a solid shot to be even close to Micah Parsons as a player.

I personally think theres a very good chance Alt and Fashanu go before the Bears pick. OL tends to be more highly valued by NFL types vs fan types.

Of course that’s a great scenario for everyone that wants one of the “big 3” WR’s.
Correct.

Bears are in a great situation at 9

DE....I don't see da Bears drafting any other position in this scenario. Obviously, my bias is for Latu. however, being a big fan of the GM, whoever he thinks is the best fit at DE for da Bears.

I’m going Fashanu and protecting the franchise.

Gives me tremendous depth and flexibility on the line. Maybe not the best move short term because it leaves a hole at DE. But long term I want the OL stocked.

Round 3/4 best DL/WR/OC available. Use the 3 million saved from cutting Borom towards any FA left.
It sets up a nice 25 draft for sure assuming Lt isn’t a bust

If all 3 of the top WRs & Alt are gone- I'm hoping the Bears can trade down in this case. Maybe the Saints jump the Jets for the next best T? Picking up the Saints 2 might be a stretch considering how little capital they have, but 9 & 122 for 14, 45 & 168 is appealing to me.

Keep an eye on the Bengals if they can move Higgins to a team like Carolina. Higgins for #33 & #65 is very fair. Bengals could then turn and offer #18, #49 & #80 with that added draft cap to move up to 9 and again beat the Jets and a slew of others for the next best T.

Bears would still be in position at 14 or 18 to potentially grab one of Verse, Latu, Newton or Murphy. Anyone of those 4 guys while adding additional draft capital would be great move for the Bears.

Turner or Odunze, but it’s so funny to see braindead sports pundits like on ESPN 1000 just completely dismiss the idea of people like Alt or Turner being there at 9.

Math still exists, right?

Before the Bears pick, we could easily see some combination of:

Caleb Williams
Drake Maye
Jayden Daniels
JJ McCarthy
Marvin Harrison, Jr
Malik Nabers
Rome Odunze
Joe Alt

HOLY SHIT, would you look at that?!?! Dallas Turner fell to 9!

Someone awesome will absolutely fall to 9. This “He won’t be there” bullshit is dumb.

When I was watching film on CW, I saw Latu just terrorize CW and make him run for his life for that entire 2023 USC vs UCLA game. Latu had 2 sacks and it would have been more if CW didn't make some Houdini-like escapes.

So I guess Latu.

I'm tempted to pick a DE here, and I'm not even sure which one. When it comes to Turner/Latu/Verse, it really seems like if you could combine any 2 of them, you'd have a perfect edge rusher to go off the boards as the first defensive player in the draft.

Turner is the athletic freak/project/upside guy, but maybe is more suited for a 3-4?
Latu is the bendy, bursty DE, but with some questions about his strength, run defense, and medical history
Verse is the power rusher that doesn't have the bend, but is a good run defender, and therefore; a 3 down DE

Who the **** do you take???

I saw a few breakdowns of these guys, and I think we already have a very similar player to Verse in Montez Sweat.

I'm kind of biased in favor of Latu because I saw what he did to USC's offense, and also I don't think the neck injury is much of a concern because it happened 4 years ago, and Latu hasn't missed a game in the past 2 seasons.

That would be my nightmare… but for sure gonna be Verse or Turner. I would say I’m leaning Verse cause his size. I do want to do some more homework on them two though.

That’s my gut feel. I do like Bowers and Latu a lot also. I gotta probably finish off looking at Verse and Turner to be 100% sure what I do.

Verse is a beast run or pass and ran 4.58. He’s a Khalil Mack type with more speed, but less powerful…
do you mean less powerful as Mack coming out of college or prime NFL Mack?

Verse is a huge dude but looks like can add some more muscle with full-time NFL strength training

def would not be upset if that is pick at 9
