Hopefully all those experts aren't laying the kiss of death on the Hawks.

No kidding. Especially McKenzie, who was 0-4 in picking CSF winners.

I thought it was interesting to see Chris Kuc's "tale of the tape," where he picked the Sharks as having the better d-men. He watches the Hawks all the time but I think he's still shortchanging Hammer (even though he did give Hammer his props in his column).

I guess we'll see how this all shakes out. I just want this thing to get going.

Well I don't think Boyle-Murray are as good as Keith-Seabrook. They maybe be better than Campbell-Hammer, but Campbell-Hammer are certainly better than Blake-Partner.

So I think the Hawks have an edge in D. We'll see which Top line gets more production because I would guess both top pairs will be on both top lines as much as possible.

14 Olympians in this series, seems the Olympics really caused havoc on the players.

This is what happens when you take dumb penalties against a team like the Sharks.

Didn't look like a team hungry to go to the SCF in the 1st.

I disagree, I think they played a great road period and it was a pretty exciting pace back and forth.

Need to cut the dumb penalties and we're going to be fine. Couple missed chances but the PK and Niemi have looked great so far.

I agree Stu. I thought the Hawks looked better as the period went on (with the exception of the penalties).

I too thought they played a pretty good road period considering you knew that the sharks were gonna come out flying.

1-0 you're gonna see when you take 3 penalties. I really didn't like the call on any of them, even the Sharp one. I saw some blatant hooks on their PP that stopped the hawks from clearing the zone I wasn't thrilled about.

Lets see the hawks come out strong in the second. Only takes one to get back square.

Refs owe the Hawks a couple of power plays.

The first two penalties called were kinda weak.

Great 2nd period, way to bounce back.

I would love the Refs to stop calling lame penalties, look how long it took him to call that play...talk about listening to the crowd. If you're gonna call that, you gotta call other interference calls that I'm seeing.

Anyways....keep it up boys. Niemi is playing like a stud!

The first two penalties were kinda lame. The last two were right on.

The problem is, the Sharks have done a few things that are at least as bad as those.

One of the Blackhawks needs to take a dive soon.

What a shot by big Buff...but what an error in coverage by Marleau...can't leave a guy like that when you don't have the puck.

Anyways, why is Hossa always going 5-hole? You know on Nababov you gotta go up with those shots, especially on an open 2-1.

Embarassing display by the refs.

They acted as though they had no clue how to call the game.

Call it tight...Call it loose.

I can't believe they screwed up on the Bolland call and put Versteeg in the box...lol. I bet it was all his yapping on the ice that worked out in the end for the hawks lol.

What a great game everything said, what action. This is what a western conference final should be.

I hope we get a new ref crew for the next game but I won't hold my breath.
