If you look back at the Bulls during that season, their last 3 losses were each by a single point. LOL... could have easily been 75-7 which certainly would have stood the test of time.

Actually, I was talking about the season right after their 72-10 one. They went 69-13.

Even if the Warriors started 22-0, they would still need to finish 50-10 (.833) to finish 72-10. It would take a lot.

1 loss for every 5 wins seems fairly reasonable for this team though. They did win 67 last year, and they're gunning for the record this year. Not to mention they're better.

Not saying they've got it in the bag or it's easy, but I think they'll be very close. Not sure what the schedule looks like but if the Bulls delivered them their 11th loss, all would be right in the world.

It's going to happen RIP to the unbreakable record.

Cal Ripkens iron man record is the only record I don't think anyone will come close to breaking again.

Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points, 55 rebounds and a few other Chamberlain records, no one is ever going to touch.

The record can be broken. However, I'm not sure if the Warriors are better than they were last year. They lost David Lee and gained Jason Thompson. Alvin Gentry may not be doing so well in New Orleans, but he was a big part of what Golden State did last year. The Warriors are ranked 5th in defense right now. Last year, they were 1st.

And injuries. They would be incredibly lucky to have two straight years where they remain as healthy as they are now. Remember, the 1997 Bulls got off to a better start than the 1996 72 win Bulls. Then players missing games set them back.

I'd be very surprised if Golden State managed 70 wins. Even if they did, they still are nowhere near the 90's Bulls, 80's Lakers, 80's Celtics, or 00's Lakers.

All it would take is overtime. Those records are very beatable.
Please, the NBA has had a 6 overtime game and no one came close to breaking any of those records.

Kobe had 81 in a regulation game, but that was when Kobe was the Lakers. And even then, he's still 19 points away from the record. And no one has come close to anything like that since then.

No one's even had more than 35 rebounds in one game since 1970. That 55 record ain't being touched.

I still would think they are higher probabilities. Ripken record is over 16 straight seasons. They are ridiculous records and probably will never be broken but Kobe got to 81. I think the closest major league player is under a season. Lol

Iron man records in general are close to impossible to break. The NBA's is AC Green at 1,192 games. The closest guy right now is DeAndre Jordan at 300. The NFL's is Brett Favre at 297 games, the next closest is Eli at 175.

Eli just shows up. I don't think he knows what is going on.

The 55 rebounds record would be pretty hard to imagine. 100 points is very beatable though. The NBA has softened its rules defensively since 2004 and Wilt set that record before there was even a three-point line. Never say never. 100 points is very doable, and has been done in basically every organized basketball level except the NBA. If Klay can get you 37 in a quarter, somebody can get you 100 in a game.

Peyton Manning got up to 208. I would never say never with that record either.

I don't see 100 points because NBA teams use defensive adjustment. Klay buries you one quarter, you likely make a change to limit his ability and force him to pass the rest of the game. That's usually why the record hasn't been broken in the NBA.

Also 100 points has never happened in Division I vs Division I in the NCAA. The highest point total is 72 points. I'd argue thats because college has never played the high scoring game.

Think if Pistol Pete had a 3 point line.

Which is also something to take into consideration concerning the record as well. Wilt did it without a 3 point line. Theoretically it should be much easier today to break that record.

Yea, I read that they charted Pistol Petes shots and if the 3 point line would have been around. He would have averaged over 57 points a game. lol Insanity.
