St. Paul may be a shit hole but some of the suburbs in that area are some of the nicest in the country. Good for the Wild, the state of Minnesota deserves a good hockey team, these guys will make them competitive again. That said they still need a lot of help on defense. Suter is going to be relied on a ton because after him they got nothing.

I would think both players would want to win though and like I said being competative vs winning is huge.

Either way the Preds and Wings got worse today, while the Hawks remained the same. That's all that really matters as this decision doesn't effect our division much and the Wild still won't make the playoffs. Watch.

And your statement works for Detroit as well. Ann Arbor is very nice. And the Wings actually have a track record. Strange.

Agreed, up front the wild have a pretty solid top 6 if Bouchard stays healthy, which he won't. But their back end is brutal, it's Suter and everyone else.

And like pointed out Suter is not a #1, Weber was. Strange day. BUT, Detroit got worse, Nashville is about to FOLD when Weber Bolts, which leaves the Blues and Hawks for the division.

Not a bad day for the Blackhawks and they can still go after Iginla, Morrow, and number of other players out there via trade. Stan has some good trade assets lets see if he uses them. We need a fucking Center!

Good for Minny...they need it.

Couldn't be happier DET got neither. Could. Not. Be. Happier.

I would be cautious about too much money for Doan. I like the guy...but he's not a pure scorer/player. He is a guy the consistently seems snake bitten/goes through a ton of droughts/hard luck. Love the physical play/leadership...worry about health/production.

Bobby Ryan. If they want a 2nd line C and Dman, prospect....Bolland, Leddy, Morin for him. Don't trade Kane for him. I would like to see the Hawks go after Yandle via trade as well. I really think the trade market goes nuts now....which is where the Hawks prob had to go a along. Kudos for trying hard to get these guys.

Who dies DET go for now? Semin and Carle?

Not worth it if Bobby Ryan doesn't want to play here. He's pulling the Luongo clause as well, I'm expecting that he'll likely stay in Anaheim if they can't work it out with Philly.

I think the Hawks would have wanted a better discount for the package deal. And the Hawks are already pretty stacked with high-dollar skill players, concentrate on medium-dollar role players.

Ryan does play the left side, dipshit

With the turmoil of Ryan/Murray/Anaheim...I wonder if Murray would NOT trade him to NJ/PHIL/NYR where Ryan probably wants to go, but instead get a good return for his team while still giving him a FU.

If the cost is Kane...I wouldn't do it.

if the rumor is true the asking price is a 2nd line center...I don't think Kruger would get Ryan...but Bolland might

Did any of you REALLY believe that one or both were coming here?

Front office doesn't know hockey. Cliff Flechter forgot more about hockey than the Hawks' front office ever knew.

Stands are filled with 20,000 bandwagoners and 2,000 fans vs a stadium full of knowledgable fans.

Suter and Parise will be the men on the Wild. Hawks are Toews' team. That is not bad in itself, but I think the allure of playing a huge part in the rebuilding of the Wild might be more appealing.

Wild has a lot to do. They continually have injury issues in goal and the defense is weak.

players don't have to spend everyday in the city they play in. most don't unless they are the lower end quality.

i don't know about Chicago but in van a whole thank of the roster players don't live here except during the season...and at that time they aren't really living here either.

never understood that argument ton. six mill a year can buy more than one house.

Parise said "It was very hard" to leave New Jersey. "At the end of the day, I thought it would be great to play at home."

Parise says, "Just the opp to playing at home, it really meant a lot to me and my family. My parents were so excited, ..."

Just sayin...

Was waiting for it to be the "front office" or Stan's fault that either didn't come here.

Did I think both? No....One...possibly.

If the Hawks were never in the bidding...people would piss and moan. If they got one/both...people would piss/moan they overpaid. Since they didn't get any....they botched it. No win situation.

And, it's Chuck Fletcher, Cliff's son. Who graduated from Harvard who worked in Sales and Marketing for Hockey Canada....kind of rode his Dad's coat tails....hmmmmm
