[A] Blackhawks Among Top Candidates For Zach Parise

Ryan does play the left side, dipshit

With the turmoil of Ryan/Murray/Anaheim...I wonder if Murray would NOT trade him to NJ/PHIL/NYR where Ryan probably wants to go, but instead get a good return for his team while still giving him a FU.

If the cost is Kane...I wouldn't do it.

Kanes not available so it doesn't matter.

I would push a trade for Iginla or Morrow. Probably offer Doan something as well.

Stan has options just what he does with them will be the question.

Good to know that about Kane

I think if CAL hasn't moved Iginla when they shouldve after the OLY, they don't now. (Morons up there)

Doan scares me about an overpayment.

DAL never seems to ever want to trade inter-conference....but I'd love to get Morrow

Did any of you REALLY believe that one or both were coming here?

Front office doesn't know hockey. Cliff Flechter forgot more about hockey than the Hawks' front office ever knew.

Stands are filled with 20,000 bandwagoners and 2,000 fans vs a stadium full of knowledgable fans.

Suter and Parise will be the men on the Wild. Hawks are Toews' team. That is not bad in itself, but I think the allure of playing a huge part in the rebuilding of the Wild might be more appealing.

Wild has a lot to do. They continually have injury issues in goal and the defense is weak.

As much as you want to slam the front office, and rightfully so, it had zero to do with this. They spoke during the entire ordeal, Parise and Suter. They wanted to play together and were going to a team that could take them both. Hawks were in no position financially to risk that move without deals in place with other existing players.

And the stands are NOT filled with 20k in bandwagoners. maybe 6k. There were 12000 of long before the bandwagon got there!

No doubt Parise want's to play at home and on a team that is on the rise with young prospects such as Granlund, Phillips, Cuma, Brodin, Zucker, Coyle, Bulmer, Palmeri and Hackett. Plus they have Koivu locked up longer term and Brodziak, Heatley, Setoguchi and Harding locked up for a couple more seasons.

If I'm Stan, I give them a call looking into what centers they might be interested in letting go (Bouchard, Cullen maybe) for maybe Hammer because their Defense is currently thin.

See IMO Feaster is in rebuild mode and Iginla was very close to being gone last year. I firmly believe you could get him with a decent deal of maybe Hjarlmarsson and McNeil a great future prospect. he only has one year left on his contract. Doan over payment is a given considering what we just witnessed with the 7.5 mil for Parise, but he might like to play with Toews.

Morrow seems expendable now. I'd still try.

They'll finish 2nd in that division for many more years. We'll see what it does for them. Hope they are in for a couple of years of disappointment because that's whats coming. D is thin, goal tending can't stay healthy, and Heatly is on the team. All negatives.

IMO, there defense is what will hold them back. They have 2 quality goalies right now and a prospect who will be their eventual starter in a year or so.

They are going to have the ability to give these young prospects more time to develop thanks to their current forward depth.

Defense does not have much depth, but if they can trade some forward depth, they could very much so be a top team in the NHL.

I wouldn't take them too lightly.

What I am saying is...

The Hawks front office doesn't have a clue. Look at the talent McD and Scooter have run off. If I'm a player, I have to wonder if they can turn SS Blackhawk around.

I've been to the games where the girls and I were the only people in our row. I think the obscene price increases and atmosphere have run off the true fans. You go to what 15-20 games/year?

I disagree and watched about as much of their games this year than the Hawks. Again they lack consistent health in net, have very thin D and will face a Vancouver team with twice the depth and an up and coming Oiler team STACKED with talent as well. With another first over all pick this year.

Hackett is an unproven so I don't even contemplate counting him yet. We'll see.

Looking at their forwards corps, they have some scary line potential.

Parise-Koivu-Setoguchi

Heatley-Bouchard-Granlund

Powe-Cullen-Clutterbuck

Brodziak-Konopka-Mitchell

I went to 40 games last year and could easily afford to sit upstairs just not where I want to be. My decision. But sure the price increase downstairs has effected me.

As for running off players none have chosen to leave. They were traded. None of them wanted to go, and were pissed they were traded. I am not defending the front office because the management moves they've made are completely fucked, principly Tallon, but that said this situation I'm glad neither of these players signed here for those prices.

the ticket price is economics Bob. While It pisses me off Chicago is not the only major market it happens in. I like you am not a happy camper and believe Mcdonough is a cancer. That said I'm torn with slamming them here where I didn't really want them giving 13yr contracts away for players who may or may not be worth that.

Koivu is injury prone. Healty is a has been and cancer..... That line up doesn't say Cup to me.

Hackett won't be ready for another year or so, which I said in the initial post.

If they could figure out their defense (probably a trade for a dman with the forward and prospect depth they have) they could easily jump up into the top 5 in the league within a year or two. Very scary potential they have.

And the fact they both turned Detroit down says quite a bit. For Decades that has been the ELITE organization in the league and just lost arguably the best D man of all time. Neither landed there. Should say something to everyone because Holland et al are still a very wise bunch of folks.

Toews is concussion prone. Our goaltending has been inconsistent. Our in zone play sucks. That doesn't say Stanley Cup to me either.

What's your point?

I'd bet money it doesn't happen. Especially with the Canucks and Oilers in their division.

top 5?

Yea right.

You realize they're winning the cup now, don't you?

I was not insinuating that at all.

I said they could be a top 5 team in the NHL within a year or two. With Parise and Suter, the current players they have, and the high-caliber prospect depth that is slowly coming up the ranks; the Minnesota Wild have a good chance to be a contender for quite some time.
