As if this weekend of garbage hockey wasn't bad enough, I heard a rumor that Toews may be missing extended time with this "upper-body injury". Better luck next season guys.

if that's true, then the season really is over.

Just sell the deadweight on the TDL and play rookies.

Pretty much rosh. Stan probably can't even unload the deadweight though.

How sad is it that this team with the talent in Sharp, Kane, Hossa, Bolland, Seabs and Keith can't make up for one guy being out. Our coach sucks our GM is useless and I am also starting to think some of the guys mentioned above are over-rated by us Hawk fans.

I think guy like Buff, Ladd and Versteeg (Brouwer to a less extent) were more important than some people thought they were. Team has never been the same since these 3 guys left. We can talk about Campbell forever but if you ask me those 3 guys I mentioned were the personalities, character and depth the team has had a very difficult time replacing.

I don't care what they get, it's not like it's going to matter. If a team looking to add a player and miss their target, the Hawks could cash in on a desperate team.

And Toews being out for a longer period of time would suggest that it's quite possibly a concussion he is having problems with.

Agreed...and for his small pricetag I think Burish is over-looked. Dallas has a LOT better record with him playin than when he is hurt. We tried to replace him with Car-bomb, but the problem is that Car-bomb so so fucking stupid HE ends up taking the penalty instead of goading the opponent into doing so.

All Hail Dale.

Yeah...he was supposed to be "day-to-day" but did not fly to SoCal? Hmmmm, flying *MIGHT* be bad for concussions. Another hint that makes me think his injury is to the head.

I just figured it was all the reporters now saying "might be concussion related symptoms" and other euphemisms for "concussion that the Hawks refuse to acknowledge publicly".

As EspoForever stated, I think that the value of what Burish brought to the team was/ is missed as well.

You are kidding, right? Swelling of the brain and massive changes in pressure don't mix. If you have a bruise give it a squeeze a few times. Do you think that's good for it? Did it hurt? Yeah......

Losing Carcillo might have been a bigger thing than initially thought.

There is some debate about it but here is one example of a concern for migranes being kicked off by blood vessel dilation. Airplanes ARE pressurized, but NOT to sea level...at 30,000 the cabin pressure would be 8000 feet or more.

Pasted answer...The one concern flying raises is that you've been having migraines post-concussion, and although you're being effectively treated, there is some potential for the lower air pressure at 30,000 feet to provoke some mild dilation of the blood vessels in your head, which is what causes the migraines. The propanolol may well be adequate to offset this, and the problem should resolve with time anyway, but in some people it lingers as a reflex indefinitely, so you might want to put a call in to your doctor's office with the very reasonable question regarding possible migraine aggravation, as this could potentially make a pleasant trip pretty unpleasant. Then again, if you manage to get through your flight without too much discomfort, the increase in pressure on landing may well "reset" things migraine-wise. I've heard of this happening before.

Chris Kuc - Quenneville on if Toews' injury could be long-term: "We'll look on the optimistic and bright side that he's going to be back."

Crashing into an iron beam while having a concussion probably didn't help matters.

Air bag didn't even go off. Doubt that was enough impact to effect him. I guess who knows. He's feeling better, I think they are just being very cautious and I would expect no less. I heard Montedor probably wouldn't be back yet he's skating so it is what it is.
