I dont think the 12 years would be a consideration, he would be a real asset to the team and I thnk most agree another cup is not if nthe cards with Crawford between the pipes, he hasn't got it!

Contract and didn't care....

i care about Luongo the goalie, because he can help the Hawks win another cup in the next few years...just like Sharp only has what...5yrs left as a decent player...same with Hossa...

Sharp has 5 years left on his contract, Hossa has 9. Luongo has 10 years remaining... even if he can play at a good level for the next 5 years, then what? You pay him to warm the bench? At least Hossa will be able to play in a lesser role.

Any way you cut it, long term contracts for goaltenders are just plain stupid. Yes he will be productive for at least 3-5 of them, but what are you going to do with that contract when he's 38 and an unnecessary burden on the salary cap?

Luongo is 33. His best years are pretty much behind him. He might have two or three years left as a good goalie. He is signed for the next TEN years, at 5.3 per season. Even if he was only signed at 5.3 per season for the next five, it's a bad contract. There's a lot of more important things to spend 5.3 million per season on. Like, a C, or a LW.

Through two pages looks like a lot of contract talking to me.... LOL!

Yeah, so I'm guilty of skimming through, as Luongo in Chicago is something that doesn't interest me in the least.. Sue me.

Like I said the only way it works out is if Rocky is willing to eat the last 3-4 years of his contract which at 20 mil I HIGHLY doubt.

So in that sense the dicussion was pretty much moot. But the fact is RIGHT NOW, and for the next 2-3 years he most definitely makes this "team" better.

His career playoff save percentage - .916%

Career playoff vs CHI - .893%

Versus everyone else - .926%

I don;t think he;d be playing CHI if he came here?

Haha, I was just trying to find those numbers, I always knew his numbers against Chicago were probably far off from against everyone else in the playoffs, which would drag his overall numbers down and feeds into the whole myth of "not making the big save during the big times", especially since that's the majority of time we see Luongo is playing against the Hawks, and that type of save percentages and performance is what we see. Not a bad hockey thought. Not a bad hockey thought at all.

It's a fact that, both in the playoffs and regular season, the majority of every game is played within a one goal differential. In the 2011 playoffs (this includes his series against the Hawks) his save percentages broken down by score:

Ahead by one goal: .939

Tied game: .931

Down by one goal: .915

I'll take that in a goalie during the playoffs every game.

Whether people like him or not...he's been a pretty good goalie in his career and there's no reason he can't play like Brodeur, Hasek, Belfour and be good until he's 40- which is 7 years away...not just 2-3

I'd say he's been better than that, he's going into the Hall of Fame when he's done.

And I think he only has 9yrs left...

The next 6yrs...taking him to 39 he's making 6.7mil

Over the last 3...he makes 6mil total-not a bad buyout if needed

Yes he only has 9 years left.

And no way is Lou HHOF yet. Not a chance. May he get there, who knows. Winning a Cup would solidify it.

Fatso isn't going to the Hall?

They'll have to make a double wide bust for sure.

Fatso is most def HHOF. In fact he'll hold a record I highly doubt ANY NHL Goalie will ever catch. Maybe two.

Call him fatso all you want I'm sure he could care less. His rings knock out your sound.

And as a fat person **** off you ignorant pile of shit.
