I left out Stalber and Frolik. Soft.

So you have Sharp penciled in at center on the 2nd line and Doan on left wing on the 1st. Of course, with Doan on their line, folks will take less runs at Kane & Toews (especially Doan LOL). Sharp doesn't care where he plays as long as the Hawks do well?

Sharp will have to play at center pretty much until one of the prospects can take it over IMO. If he doesn't we'll have problems again. I'm not sure I agree with scratching Stalberg for Bickell, otherwise I would be completely fine with that line-up.

You also left out Kruger.

That's not a bad thing.

I have no personal preference either way. We'll have to see how much he has developed since last year, he's still a young kid and I wouldn't count him out. It was his first full season, there is a lot of good NHL players out there that had 25+ points their rookie year and doubled that total the following season. Hudler, Filppula, Krejci, Perron, Brouwer, Giroux, E. Kane, Pominville, Plekanec are all examples of players that had around 25-30 points their rookie year, then put up 45-60+ points in their 2nd years. I'm not saying we should expect that out of him, but I also think it's a bit early to give up on him.

and that would be great, but the people on your list weren't centering players who had double his points either.

Most of his points were with the 2nd line, sure... but Kruger bounced around a lot this season as much as anyone. Not just lines, but positions as well. For a rookie trying to not only acclimate himself to the NHL, but North America in general, that's just another weight to put on his shoulder. We'll see where he's at in training camp.

The problem with Bickell is he did'nt start playing until about the end of March last season.

On top of this if he were to hit the weight room this summer and pack on some muscle he would be helping his cause.

Got me. Until they either find a Center or someones ready to put there he's the last resort. I don't get why he wasn't there last year.

Yea Tony I left out Kruger, I just don't see him as a 4th line Center. Maybe he's bigger this year, I just don't know.

I know if Gillis is holding out for "great" return on Lou he's fucked. That contract dictates NO great return.

So there is basically no chance McNeill makes the team this year?

Not by his play in Rockford last year, although jumping into the AHL for the last part of the season can't or shouldn't be a berometer I suppose.

Anything could happen. I really think Saad is the only one with a legit shot, unless Beach picks up from where he left off before the shoulder thing and impresses the hell out of them.

Ive been welcoming this Idea for months knowing he was leaving after the season. I have been saying this from day one I never liked Crawford and would love to have Lou as a Hawk, I don't not like Lou I just hate Vancouver. Lou got the blame for everything possible in Vancouer, maybe even the riots were blamed on him. I like our chances of winning the cup much much much better with Lou then Crawford. I will bet anything Crawford will be as lame as last year if nothing is done to improve that spot. Don't care how much we improve our D. I JUST DON"T TRUST HIM. Now the issue is Lou's and I can't see Gillis dealing with us with out asking the world in return just to screw us but anything is possible. My Gut feeling he stays as a back up, in hopes to repeat as a glorified bench door opener. I mean Huet did it so why not him.

Toews was asked about Lou at some golf thinga majig..just saw it on the news. He really didn't say much other than he is well aware of the pressures Lou has been under in Vancouver and that he has no idea what management has in mind this off season but believes its fun for people to think and talk about.

Don't even know why I posted this..not really an interesting comment but I like hearing Hawk players talk about rumours like this.

so you don't trust Crawford for two soft goals in 12 playoff games, but you trust Luongo and his multiple playoff meltdowns?

Tallon still trying to make a deal for Lou----

Tallon on Luongo trade: "I'm open to anything that makes sense as far as the Panthers winning a Cup and we'll listen to anything possible."

I dont think Dale needs Luo at all. He has his hot rook in minors and a couple of journeymen vets to handle the pipes. Theodore was VERY good in the playoffs for em.

True but he also holds all the cards. He needs to get up to the cap floor which won't be hard, he's about 6 mill under with versteeg and someone else to sign, and like I said he's in the power position to take Lou on something Van seems desperate to do, and really not have too much competition for him because he doesn't fit too well in many other places that he's willing to go. So it really comes down to exactly what he said, If he can get Luo in a deal that makes sense for the team, meaning, Luo and some good shit, for not much back in return, then why not make the deal. Even if Luo somehow flops in florida, and they have the most expensive backup ever, he is still valuable to them at least in the near term in getting to the cap floor, and they still have whatever else they can wrench out of Van.

Ok, I will claim ignorance and laziness because I didnt look, but did Dale sign Weiss up yet?

I will say this, Loo was the man I loved to hate, but in a place like FLA, he would really be able to be a mover and shaker without the pressure.

I mean, sure he is a multi-million dollar athlete that wants to touch the Cup like all, but the past two year? I challenge anyone to name a player more under the gun and scrutinized then Loo.

(Did I just type something POSITIVE about Loo?! Must have been the quote I read nhl.com I think where he was talking about Hawks and said: "...Sure it is a catchy song... I had to hear it 7 times..." I smiled.)
