Daze is still playing? Or did you mean Hasek...

Daze may be in a beer league some where I guess... haha. May I used to love him. I honestly, just because of the timing and my age, would put him up there as one of my all-time favorites. I know it sounds weird but I bet everyone has that player that is one of their favorites that other people would just not consider.

i liked him a lot. He would have had a solid career if not for that back. Soft for his size? Sure..but so is Hossa so that argument is always lost on me. People expected him to play big and tough because that was what that era of hockey was and the type of player the league gms wanted. The Eric Lindros types who could muscle through the clutching and grabbing and do it themselves. Daze actually had a skill set to him that was more important than crashing and banging just because he was built big. Would have had a solid career.

For the curious, here are Hašek's stats from the 09-10 season in the Czech top league and the 10-11 season in the KHL.

CZE

GP36 W24 L12 OTL0 SO3 GAA2.24 SV%.922

GP13 W12 L1 OTL- SO3 GAA1.68 SV%.937

KHL

GP44 W23 L18 OTL3 SO7 GAA2.45 SV%.915

GP4 W0 L0 OTL- SO0 GAA4.12 SV%.864

Hašek could come to the Hawks only for a 1-year league minimum two-way contract. I doubt anyone wants him and if he does come back to the NHL it will be unremarkable.

Yah problem with throwing these stats out is the length of the season in those leagues. They don't compare to the longer NHL season.

Just remember Ray Emery himself posted these numbers in the KHL 36 22 8 0 2070 73 0 1.86 .926

Agreed. He could be a good emergency back up for someone. I don't think he signs until someone gets hurt myself if he signs at all.

I have always admired Haseks love for the game he just wants to play. His legacy can't be tarnished either so good for him and i wish him luck.

Ditto. And Ditto.

However if he were to actually make it again, I hope that he would have the good sense to get out just as quickly if he is not performing. I have always admired the attitude of sumo wrestlers: No one tells a Sumo to retire. It is a part of his face and honor to leave the sport when he can no longer compete at a level suitable of respect.

I always hate watching marquee athletes trying to do what they no longer can. <cough>TitoOrtizForAnyMMAFans<cough>

Yeah, Hoss isn't overly physical, but he does drive the net and he's not afraid of high traffic areas. He's better along the boards too.

Daze used to just camp out in the high slot.

Because it was effective. He may of not been physical, but his bigger frame was harder to move. He's love to camp out by the net and cherry pick goals... I loved it.

When did Daze EVER go to an area he had to be moved from?

Also, why the hell are debating about Daze in a greasy Bob thread?

From Jaeckel:

I've heard from two sources in the last 36 hours or so that the possibility of Roberto Luongo becoming a Blackhawk not only remains, but might be growing.

In spite of the fact that you have two organizations that don't like each other involved in this, you also have two organizations becoming increasingly desperate to make a move.

The Hawks, going in to next weekend's fan convention, greatly want to avert an ugly, boo-filled scene. They want to be able to say they have improved a first round and out club. Badly.

Vancouver wants to avoid a huge distraction and salary cap issue going to the season with a high-profile player who's made it known he wants to leave—and possibly go to Chicago.

The tension is this: neither team has many, if any, other options. The Hawks continue to be stymied in trade talks elsewhere, and I am hearing they are not getting a lot of love from the remaining free agents out there.

1. I'm not sure anything will stop McP from being booed.

2. If true, could Karma be coming back to haunt the Hawks?

Yeah, and he also thinks it's time for the Hawks to "give up" on Leddy. The guy is a moron, plain and simple. He writes crap to get hits to his website, nothing he says is factual or even close to correct -- just a figment of his imagination and people believe it because somehow HockeyBuzz is now considered reputable. He is a parrot for Eklund, made from the same mold.

We don't need to make a trade, just for the sakes of making a trade. It needs to be beneficial for the team.

That might be true, BUT.....

There have been no trades to improve the team. AND

Sheldon Brookbank was signed..

Perhaps the karma has come full circle....

Agreed. That said, the GM has sat on his hands and not paid the phone bill.

Daze was probably one of the best natural goal scorers the Hawks have had. Unfortunately he couldn't use his size because he was fragile. Especially near the end of his career.

Klem why do you read that dumb ****? He gets his information off a fucking cereal box? HFWriter my ass.

No matter what Stan has been doing brookbank addresses a clear need on this team.
