OT was fun because the game opened up. Trap hockey is brutal.

Nice shake off after the first goal against Crawford. Nice OT game too.

again the Hawks 3rd line will be the difference this series. Toews being shadowed...Kane getting limited help on the 2nd line and the top blueliners trap trap trapping? 3rd line is there to take this series...and they will.

hell of a play by rozsival on the gwg also...he actually was the best blueliner on the ice for the Hawks.

Agree with everything, especially the bold.

That style of hockey they play is horseshit. Can you imagine a Wild/Preds series. All 1-0 games.

Thought Oduya sent the puck to Stalberg.

Either way epic play. The team came out in the first and looked like shit. And then the 2nd onward they were playing their game.

It was Oduya, though Rozsival played extremely well too. Think he actually led the d-men in minutes played.

Eh, I wouldn't call it horseshit. It's boring, but they gotta do what they gotta do to stay in these games. It's why I and lots of others much preferred to see the Red Wings instead, and hopefully still will. The Hawks actually out hitting someone proves they can play any style of game, but I'll take speed and skill over hits and brawn every day.

First game jitters and quite a typical playoff game. The level difference between the teams was quite clear despite the close score. What will the meatheads who have cried about the Hawks not being physical enough cry about now? If the Wild expect to play Suter 30+ every game they have some problems coming their way. Hats off to Harding, he played a hell of a game. Now that the introductions are done, I hope and am pretty sure the Hawks will further elevate the game and the Wild will start to fall behind.

The Wild need to go away in four games. They are a fucking disgrace to hockey. Way to drop five guys back into the neutral zone and NEVER press the attack. They even dumped the puck in a couple times with 3 on 2 and 4 on 3 rushes. Fucking pathetic, and they have absolutely zero confidence in being able to beat the Hawks. At least fucking try to score. The sooner this series is over, the better. I don't even know if you can call what they played hockey. Suter 41 minutes...leading Blackhawk was....Roszival? Yeah, that will work.

If they can limit the ice time of the bigger Hawk blueliners by playing Roszival more this series and still win it then more power to the Hawks and yes it would show just how much the Wild suck. I didn't notice Parise at all...and I mean at all. I actually just had to check the box score to see if he even played. How much did they pay that guy? At least Suter is noticeable and has lived up to most of his crazy contract so far. Perhaps Roszival had a hand in making Parise look invisible? I really wasn't paying attention to who had his number the most this game and who have been assigned to him.

Wild did do one thing well tonight. They shut down Toews pretty good. He's going to have a long rough playoffs the way the other teams are going to zero in on him. Depth is going to be so very important through these playoffs.

And yes I have no nerves about the Wild..they won't make a series out of it esp when the Hawks start scoring first..which they will. And I have zero jitters regarding Crawford either.

And yes Rosh is right even though the scoreboard didn't show it the Hawks carried the high majority of the play that game and will continue to. I had issues with a few bad offside calls by the officials. When you are fighting the trap you don't need to be fighting incorrect offside calls at the same time..that's costly. Officiating wasn't great this game but I have seen worse. Hawks do need to keep their god damn sticks down also. 3 bad stick penalties tonight..good think the PK is still outstanding.

Oduya was second.

BTW, Great pass by Johnny to Staalberg in the OT. Nice pass by Staalberg to Bickell, too.

Surprised you didn't mention the great hit by Shaw that bailed Oduya out, and allowed him to make that awesome clear out to Stalberg. That play was a thing of beauty from start to finish.

Yes, Stalberg showed great patience in setting up Bickell on OT. But how about that outlet (loft) pass from Odyua?!?!?! That was a thing of beauty...It was timed perfectly as Stallberg gained control of it just as it crossed the blueline....just amazing!!

Kane was awesome. Seems like he was setting up scoring chances everytime he touched the puck. Like most of the season, Sharp still looks lost. Crawford was absolutely amazing, despite giving up that softy.

Yes, Suter playing 40+ is just obscene...I hope he's burnt out by game three.

Edit: Oops...looks like that Odyua's pass was already discussed. That's what i get for being late to the party.

That Oduya pass was indeed a beauty. Watched the replay and you could see how he really took his time to pull that off and it worked perfectly. These decisive small perfect plays always pop up in these playoff games. Which make these things so awesome!

I haven't read any posts in here after the game, I just wanted to touch base on some things.

A) I think when the Hawks found out Harding was playing they really came out relaxed, which I don't think thats whats going to happen again.

B) This was the best game the Wild had/will have. I don't see them nor the goalie either one having a game like they did yesterday, if anything that loss possibly deflated the Wild's balloon.

C) THE OFFICATING WAS HORRID on Both sides but mostly on us, I did not hear a whistle on that goal from kane that was called back, again this is why they need a coaches challange. If the ref had blown the whistle he would not have stay there looking at the play, he would have stopped everyone right away, he waived his hands after the celebration when the puck went in...I think he was trying to save him self. BULL SHIT CALL, along with the no call on Hossa trip late in the game.

D) Did anyone catch Clutterbuck hit on Sharp when Sharp was laying on the ice, during the sramble around the Wild net late in the game..>WTF WAS THAT!

Finally the best moment and I chuckled really hard was when the reporter Collins during the pregame mentioned live on TV that the Hawks had tremendous amount of SEX!!!! HAHAHAHAH and she kept going and then corrected herself...I was waiting for a chuckle from her but she did a great job hiding it.

Didnt deserve to win that game, but they did. Time to kick some ass on Friday!

Why Wild deserved to win it? That game showed that they can't match up to the Hawks, all they could do is trap trap trap and hope for a mistake. No confidence whats so ever, this game showed why Columbus was suppose to be in the 8th seed....please Grim.

I agree, Hawks out played the Wild three of the four periods. If this was the Wild's best shot, this series will be over in four.

Hawks are far and away the better team. Outside of Harding and Suter, the Wild didn't do anything that impressed me. No way did the Wild deserve to win that game.

The wild have no business being in the series and they played the Hawks hard. You slow the game down against the Hawks and they struggle.

The Hawks had no business winning the game but they did. You need tough wins like that in a Stanley Cup run. Hopefully they blow the doors off the Wild on Friday.

I don't understand the Hawks "having no business" in winning the game.

Out shot

Out scored

Out hit

Scored on the PP (On 1 less chance)

Had 21 more shots on net (to 10) that were blocked

Both Hawk goals were well earned goals
