So we've all been blaming our exes for being crazy, but surely there are some people on here who were the crazy ex.

Maybe the next IHN roadwatch should be at your place and instead of food, we bring a door and some tools

I know an ex or two would probably refer to me as an insufferable bastard prick.

But even though I pride myself on insanity, I never did anything that could qualify as bing a "Crazy Ex". I never stalked--cyber or otherwise, driunk dialed or drunk texted, or made threats. I basically cut them out of my life permanently.

A buddy of mine was married and after a year his wife had become lazy, She wouldn't want to do any thing, social, outdoor activities, nothing. She also gained a LOT of weight. He stuck it out for a couple of years hoping he could get her to become like they were before getting married but she wasn't interested. He filed for divorce, not wanting to fight he told her she could have everything. She would not leave him alone, harassing phone calls, came to his place of employment, he ended up filing a restraining order.

This type of shit is what bothers me about getting back into a relationship.

I had an ex fake having a serious illness because she thought I was going to break up with her. That took me a long time to get over due to how fucked up it was.

Myself? I've only facebook creeped on a few ex flings just to see what they were up to. Typically it's a morale booster to know how much better I'm doing.

The thing I've found out about dating is that it's a massively complex numbers game. The more you daite the better the chance of hooking up with someone resonably compatible, but also the greater the chance of meeting a psycho. You also have to kick diversity into it--if you date the same exact type of people and expect a different result you're engaging in an excercize of futility. You also have to apply learning--if certain traits tend to lead to a psycho you have to avoid them like the plague.

Some of us are not pretty enough to get the choice. For me, "same exact type of people" can mean "OMG, she is actually gonna let me touch her naughty bits?!"

Oh, here's one for you:

First wife and I were together about five years, married for just over two (but a year of that was spent apart, I was in Korea and she was in KY and Iraq). We decided to divorce but wanted to wait till I got home from Korea and she got back from her deployment. Then I get an email that she cheated on me with her LT and was getting booted out of the Army.

Flash forward several months and I am out of the Army, she is still getting out processed. She is losing everything, benefits, GI Bill, already lost rank. Only thing she kept was her new man. I on the other hand had moved to DC and was making around 65K.

Here comes the "***** be trippin" part: She threatened to take me to court and ask for spousal support (ie alimony) because I was making decent money and she couldn't get a job. Um...hellooooo! You got dishonorably discharged for adultery. What judge in their right mind would reward you for that and punish me!?!

Marriage and laws around it are traps, trust no woman with marriage.

Or:

Don't be a dumb turd and get married without some research first-- like get to know your mate.

Easier said than done, right?

Its not like they come with a warning...and even when they do you often deny the signs.
