is it a good stat? yes...and again...WAR is a good stat to use

but if you tell me a player is 2nd or some high rank in WAR and that stat alone support your argument..thats not strong support...What about other offensive stats?

If you are going to evaluate a player based on ONE stat, than you should probably quit watching baseball. You want an easy formula?

Basic Stats+Advanced Stats+SaberMetrics+Eye Test= A pretty good eval of a player. But if WAR is the "best" continue to use it alone in your baseball LA LA land you will continue to look dumb in all of your arguements.

Now go do some research on fictional "replacement players"

And sure that's the best way but unless you want to look at 40 stats and watch 15 games a day you can't say for sure you are doing anything better than what WAR is showing you.

He was threatening to leave in the chatbox because I was bringing up that Lou Pinella and Quade replace Soriano in late inning close games for defense, but yet he shouldnt be replaced if he is a good defender, since CO and Poodski claim he is good in LF. And than I started calling him names like I usually do with him and CO, and he got mad. I can understand when I call someone a Special person, that may be a bit much, but he was getting mad because I was calling him a homer....thats just being sensitive.
