Heh, Clone and I were having a side chat the other day mentioned t he Clippers traded a 1984 future 1st to the Sixers for World B Free in 1978. 6 years later, the Clippers were still not good and the pick ended up being #5, Charles Barkley.

Clippers traded Free in 1980 to the Warriors for their 1984 1st. It ended up #8, who the Clippers selected Lancaster Gordon, who as you can guess, was not good.

Free is one of my favorite players all-time. I almost felt bad pointing out that he played most of his (successful)defense while on offense, and I don't mean he didn't play defense, he did, he just wasn't one to force turnovers. Grab loose balls, jump and steal in lanes, hit guys blind spots, yeah, sure. He did all those things. You just didn't see him in a defensive stance very often, more like an inflatable dancer :ROFLMAO:

That goes with players raised in the parks and not the gyms in general(rules with exceptions, I'm sure). Good indoor defenders learn the footwork of playing on hardwood, where playing on asphalt you can run backwards as quick as you want, and you wont slide on someones sweat. One of those facts of life, and if you wanted to try to pull out more players who don't win titles(without a superior/equal player on the team to put them over) look at who put in the majority of their amateur career playing indoor league and pickup ball in the off-season vs players who spent all of it playing street ball. Street ball is crack and when you find a good park, it beats going to a good Y. Test that theory a bit Prope.

Celtics appear a near lock to make it to the finals. based on this youd have to figure the nuggets make it to face them....OKC's youth should bite them in the playoffs, but who knows.

Short of Miami doing it again (lol), I pretty much agree with you.

Celtics have a historical team in terms in the Team Ratings. Granted I am down on Tatum compared to most people, but talents just have a lot of fire power surrounding the team. The East is rather weak this season and Milwaukee blundered like no other by hiring Doc Rivers. Sixers had the injuries issue.

Timberwolves are destined to fail in the playoffs, and OKC just has no experience in these situations. I wouldn't be surprised if Denver does a similar run like last year.

im with you on Tatum. great player, but not the tier 1 superstar that many think of him as. but like you said, the talent around him is phenomenal.

T-Wolves I do wish we could have seen at full strength with KAT. that was a roster i felt could give denver issues. gobert could handle Jokic as well as anyone else could, and KAT would give the nuggets issues with choosing how to operate their lineups/matchup with aaron gordon getting drawn away from the paint constantly. throw in the timberwolves really good perimiter defense and Edwards ascending to tier 1 superstar status soon, and i felt they could give denver problems.

dont count out Lebrons Lakers JUST yet, either

Mavs are dangerous. I want to say they are number 1 in defense since their trades. They will always score, but if they play D. Thats a handful.

West is kind of wide open. Denver is def the favorite.

Pels can do damage as well, but the consistency of all them on the court. People think they are a team to look our for but they ended weak and sucks they doing a play in where if they win. They play Denver.

Mavs are not dangerous until Luka stops being a whiny lil ***** on the court. incredible talent, but soft mentality IMO

Were the Mavs 30th in D before their trades? They finished the season ranked 17th.

I don't view them as a threat to the likes of Denver at all. Frankly will be a struggle for them to beat LAC.

Feel like Lakers/Pelicans will do all they can to lose that game so they don't have to play Denver.

Basically, I know they were top 5 defense since the trades.

If Boston doesn't make the finals, Tatum will never live it down. This is a prime opportunity for them to get to (again), and win the title.

They've made the Finals before with him. They can do it again. I won't be impressed with that. With their rather historical rankings, they should win it all. So failing to win would be on him.

I read that he would bet on himself, but take the under and intentionally didn't hit certain stats or "get hurt/sick" so he would get pulled, guaranteeing that he wins the bet.

What an idiot

At least have other people make the bets for you. Find some rando that has no connections to you to place some occasional bets and give him a cut!

The Porter's clearly aren't very bright.
