Exactly. Fox and Fangio, and Donatell for that matter have one of the strictest visions I have seen in terms of how they envision a team. It's not just about a guy's talent. It's about the locker room, the football character, the person's make up, and how much they buy in, as well as can they execute what they want.

Seriously, you could chalk up Bennett and Marshall as guys who either were locker room trouble or didn't buy in. Forte - RB on the wrong side of 30. But Slauson, a guy who did everything they asked him to do, was the real shot heard round Halas Hall. He fit everything character-wise the team needed. But what they wanted was someone more proficient in run blocking in a zone scheme. To get down to that fine a detail and cut someone over it - this coaching staff doesn't **** around.

All the more reason why I would not be surprised if Jeffrey ends up playing out his tag and is allowed to walk at the end of the year, provided White ends up as all that.

Great, let AJ and his people shop him around. If there is a team willing to pay that, make a trade with the Bears getting compensation for a $15M player.

Sounds like someone in the "media" trying to drum up a news story. Here's what we know:
1. Alshon informed the Bears ahead of time that he wouldn't be attending the offseason workouts so he could work out independently so he could hopefully remedy the soft-tissue injuries he keeps getting.
2. He's a franchise player, which means he's under contract for this year. That means that he will be at the mandated portion of the offseason program.
3. Both he and the Bears are hoping he has a big year this year from him, for obvious reasons. Alshon so he can have a huge payday, and the Bears because it means they are (probably) doing well if he does.
4. Websites like clicks, and therefore are not immune to floating baseless speculation that they hope will get picked up by a national news outlet.
5. It's a long off-season.

I think a lot has to do with buying in to what Fox is building, which is why I'm so excited about the team moving forward. Marshall wanted to be a TV host, Forte Blew off the Piccalo award, and Bennett cried about catches and his contract.

While Alshon has always been professional, he's still not with the team, voluntary or not. You can see the disappointment when Pace and Fox are asked about him not being there, imo.

I wonder if Cutty gets to express his opinion. After losing Marshall, Bennett, and Forte he's probably thinking "Here we fucking go again." It's OK to have 2 good WRs. It's OK to have 2 good TEs too. We can't continue to throw away offensive talent. Could you imagine FoxPace leading the '85 Bears with all those yahoos. The team would have been mismantled in one season for choir boys. Sending young talent packing? Or just expensive older talent? Only the Slauson move is confusing and that's just because we don't know enough about his health concerns.

He's trying to get young and build a core group of like minded players.

Sometimes business moves don't marry up with fans' feelings. That's why you need someone like him to make the tough decisions.

I hate seeing Forte leave. And I loved how Slauson played his heart out for us... But I totally understand the philosophy.

To be fair... I have lived in SC for 13 years and while I consider this state a dumpster fire, I have remained because of the job and money.
