Glasgow has never made a pro bowl and Jackson isnt that great. Jones, Wright and Jenkins all have had better metrics than them the last couple years.

Glasgow was 3rd this year in most pressures given up at G and 4th last year.

I wasnt talking about taking a RB in the 1st. I said Johnson may take one in the 2nd or 3rd as @msadows insist all 4 top picks should be OL/DL.

I just dont see a reason to draft a RB in the top 72 when your OL/DL is in serious need of gamechangers.

Its not likely you will get more than one good player each on the OL/DL in FA, so you will need multiples in the draft.

Personally, like i noted before, I'd trade that #41 pick and #72 to move up into the mid to late 20's and take a guard like tyler booker after drafting an edge at #10, then use the other 2nd round pick to draft another guard, center, or DT.

Poles has shown he loves trading up. If he wants to take a RB in the 5th then sure, but if you fix the OL swift and a FA would be more than good enough.

If the top rated O limemen are off the board at 10 and a trade down isn't possible, Jeanty may be the best available pick
There will be good O linemen in the second round. So it really
depends on free agency and the way the draft unfolds.

Disagree............I honestly don't think both the OTs are going to be off the board by 10, but if the two top offensive linemen are gone, Campbell and Banks, that leaves 7 players, now the top two QBs are going probably in the top three that leaves 5 players before the Bears pick.

3 Graham DT
4 Johnson CB
5 McMillen WR

That leaves the Bears my next five, all defensive players.

5 Mike Green, my surprise top 10 pick. After the Senior Bowl this guy is going to shoot up the draft boards.

All these guys are Bear needs, you may want Jeantey but you don't need an RB this high. Not when you can probably get a Hampton or Johnson in the second for Johnson's offense. Both are Monty type backs you can pair with Swift.

I would be shocked if they took Jeanty. We would have to make a LOT of FA moves for this to happen, IMO, and then they better go OL in the 2nd.

I would argue that you have this backward. A rising OL lifts all RB's.

In addition, improving the OL ( Properly ) also helps the passing game. Two Packers one bullet.

I don't think people are viewing it as an either or. The top end of this RB class is not worth a first round pick. Also the gap between the top of this deep RB class and who they could get with their 3rd or fifth round pick is not wide enough to over spend on.

It's the lines stupid. Both OL and DL. ( not directed at you, just making a joking reference to Clinton here )

And if they go DL or DE at 10, I get it. There is some insane talent at those positions.

But if it’s Jeanty or a guy who has never played G but projects inside at G (Campbell) at pick 10? No one knows if he could even make that transition (I suspect he could). Now if it’s Simmons and they project him to take over at LT? That seems fine to me.

Of course, FA will dictate a lot of the moves Poles makes in the draft. I just have a strong feeling he will take a rb early.

No, it is based off of years of this team having a subpar running back corps. Fields masked those deficiencies.

And yes, also off of last year where Roschon is a 4th option on most other teams, and Swift who has never been a back who has top end vision or patience. Get him the ball in space-that’s his strength.

What the hell are you basing your opinion on that Swift and Roschon can elevate the running game with or without a good OL?
