Wouldn’t he be the “not really fast, not really shifty” type?

Do we want a guy because he can break tackles against Maryland and Rutgers?
How about the no 1 team, Oregon?

It’s so early in the process that to pretend you know for sure that these guys are guards only is ridiculous. Every year there are guys who somebody claims has short arms or whatever and projects as a guard who end up being tackles. Both these guys could easily end up being tackles.

There are also scenarios where they could draft a guy like Simmons at 10, play him at G as a rookie and move him to tackle if/when Jones leaves.

The OL and DL suck so bad. I kind of think thr DL is actually in worse shape than the offensive line. People are so caught up on offense though that they focus on that. When they lost Billings they couldn’t stop the run at all. They couldnt get pressure on the QB.

They need to put a ton of resources into the OL and DL. To even be thinking about a RB is absurd. I don’t even like the idea of spending a 2nd round pick on RB with all the holes on both lines. I can’t even imagine contemplating spending the 10th freaking pick with one.

All they really need is a nose tackle and depth at 3-tech. Is Billings coming back? They should get Billings and a 3-5th rounder at nose and bring back Taylor but probably love the rookie they got too much and they never keep enough interior d-line on the 53.

Both lines may be better than you think with a couple tweaks.

Billings is in the last year of his contract, 30 and coming off a pectoral injury I believe. That's not something you hitch your cart to as they say lol. Pickens is done, and bringing back a guy like Chris Williams is a stop gap move. The interior DL is really thin even if they move D. Walker inside.

yea. He's not a moron who drafts a rb in the top 15
Barkley and Henry, McCaffrey would be worth top 15 picks.

The last few years where people stop picking rb’s early has proven to not be a constant.

There are guys that are worth it but they are few and far between.

Does anyone have a clue what Jenkins is going to be asking? Would you keep him if he was cheap? I’m torn!

I think RB is very very undervalued but you have to be in the perfect place to afford a first on one. If you’re picking in top ten, my guess your rb situation isn’t the reason and or won’t bring you out of the bottom of the league.

Good teams draft rb’s bc they’re at the end of the round and then you can afford one.

Nobody anywhere is making a draft decision based on tape vs Georgia Southern.

So how about the other 6 shitty programs jeanty faced?

He beat up on a bunch of bottom tier rush defenses. The only good run D's he faced were like UNLV and oregon, and the penn state which he looked like dogshit against in the playoffs.

And none of the teams who drafted them have them on their roster now

Totally worth it!

Maybe. We’ll know a lot more about all of the players after the combine.
We'll know a lot more but we won't know until he plays if he can actually play LT and that's if whoever drafts him actually drafts him to play LT. Like if the Bears drafted him then it might be to play LG next year and then the decision to keep B.Jones or not will depend on if Campbell moves to LT or stays at LG.

Can't wait for the combine though to see what many different players do in certain skills tests and what they measure or weigh in at.

Do we really want a guy because he can break tackles against Utah State and Georgia Southern?
So you don't think he can play well against better competition or in the NFL?

Right. Looking for Montgomery type
He's not that guy, size and strength and all around game.

We should have paid Montgomery after his second or third season when he was leading the entire NFL in percent offense.

Not saying that, but there is certainly risk involved vs. drafting a guy like bijan who came from a giant program playing against the best competition.

It wouldnt be shocking if he fell flat on his face vs good NFL defenses. This is a RB, even saquan looked pedestrian behind the NYG OL prior to going to the eagles.

Right...and every single one of those teams, regrets letting them go.

And RB's hit FA every single year.

Thats why you dont draaft one at #10, let the dumb shit organizations do it and then get them after 4-5 years.

With Bijan and Saquon, everyone knew those guys were elite coming out of high school, and they were studs all through college. With Jeanty, you really didn't see much about him before this season started. He was very good in 23 but not special, probably a mid-late round pick as of August. It's not a deal breaker, but as you say more risk compared to other guys drafted in the top 10.

The kind of people that want Jeanty are the same type that still have cable.

They’re people who spend their day oscillating back and forth between FOX and CBS programming.

Yup, DL is easily one of our weakest spots and we should actively be looking to add premium players to it to provide starters and depth. Generally, unless we just invested a lot somewhere… like 1sts/2nds/money, we should be looking to add more. Or, unless a guy is in pro bowl convos consistently, he needs competition on the team to push him and/or replace him when his contract is up. There are very few guys that fit this description.

I’d keep him if “cheap”, though I have no idea what he’ll get in the open market. It can be a one year prove it deal at maybe 12-15 million… or it may be a couple years with less AAV. I’d like to keep him if we can get a prove it deal.
