Iv always thought that every single Dairy Queen sucked. Im not into ice cream and their food is shit

Their concept is puzzling to me, I've never seen one where they sell food.

Which must mean it is cheaper to sell just ice cream all winter than make and sell hot food.

We have 2 in my little town. One is just a “Treat”…..the other is a “Grill and Chill”.

As far as soft serve, this may be right.

There is a mom and pop place in Oak Lawn called Premo's. 95th and about Central

DQ does have some great soft serve, but I'd say Premo's tops em. But, it's not a franchise etc.

That place is/was great!

My father would take my grandmother to church at St. Albert's just a couple of miles from that place, which was my only real incentive to tag along for that trip in the summer as a kid.

I am craving that swirl cone as I type this you sadistic SOB.

So it’s not ice cream then, got it. Thanks for clarification.
Yeah, once it get past a certain milk fat content it become custard

During college I worked at Good Humor in the factory and distribution facility and learned more than I wanted about ice cream

If ice cream is your thing, it might be okay. Best Ice Cream was the orange sherbert on a waffle cone from putt putt golf or those flintstone orange sherbert push ups from the ice cream truck.. yeah sherbert isnt a true ice cream i guess.. but good stuff as a kid... those red, white and blue starsicles from the ice cream truck get a honorable mention...

Nah.

My parents were stereotypical flower power hippies, so my dad ditched red meat before I was born. We ate a lot of chicken & pork products, but my only exposure to burgers as a kid was when said grandmother wanted White Castle after church. I hated those sliders, so I just assumed all burgers were gross until going to a friend's 4th of July backyard BBQ in fifth grade and ate a real hamburger.

In fact I ate two and literally got dizzy from being food drunk on beef for the first time in my life.
