Call it what you will.. it will be the realization that J.Mcown ( as good a guy/team-mate he can & has been) will never be better at starting QB than the incumbant.. just the facts

I'm willing to bet it would be close...but he could steal the starting job from Clausen

People act like McCown won 3 superbowls in his 3 wins that one season.

Hard to see the Bears investing more money in the QB position at this point which leads me to believe Cutler is all but gone. Maybe they have a trade in mind? McCown may not be a starter but he is about the best backup you could ask for. Team first guy who works his ass off and will support a young QB while he is learning.

Not really. Green Bay without Rodgers isn't Green Bay. He got hurt on the 1st drive, no? They were marching downfield, were in the RZ. If he plays the whole game the BEARS don't win, and it's probably not close. The few wins that the NFCN teams have vs Green Bay have almost all been when Rodgers wasn't playing (concussed in 2010 when DET beat them, Shea McClellin'd in 2013 when the BEARS & DET beat them).

I thought Claussen's contract was only one year. Was it a 2 year deal? If so, there is no need for McCown. I saw enough of Jimmy that he could do just as well as McCown, IMHO.
