Correct but he had made the playoffs only 3 times in 9 years or 33%. By contrast Caldwell made the playoffs 50% of the time. Matty P 0% of the time.

Are you honestly going to try and pretend that the Lions didn't fire Caldwell too soon? Can you think of any other coach that was fired despite making the playoffs in 2 out of 4 years?
Well, Nagy should have been.

I would not be too upset if the Bears traded for Wentz. Early in his career he was showing stud status. It largely comes down to what they have to give up to get him. If they can do it without surrendering a 1st round pick then I'm good.

What concerns me most about Wentz is the mental toughness. He's not quite Jay Cutler but there are many similarities. I have seen stuff from Wentz that has me question if he is 100% committed to being the best. He relies too much on his physical skills, which when healthy are terrific. I just prefer a QB who has less physical skills but is a mental baller. The mind is the best asset the best QB's have, and I question Wentz's.

My issue is his injury history. That is a lot of money to have to a decent backup because they will play at some point in the season.

Lmao this is gonna fucking SUCK.

Us overpaying for the one guy I wanted nothing to do with is giving me Trubisky trade vibes all over again.

Wentz seems like the logical answer for our situation. Nagy and Pace only have 1 years left to turn the Bears around. Wentz has all the talent in the world but needs to right situation to harness it. His upside will allow Nagy and pace to keep their jobs. If he tanks. They tank anyways

You don't need to trade away 2-1st's and 25 mil to tank......kinda defeats the purpose............

So we're giving up a Mack package for a player that performed bottom 5 last year. Is Ballard even serious or is he bidding this up to stick it to the Bears and Pace

You know that made Wentz look better in almost ever Stat except sacks and 3rd down completion lol
Might want to look at the date of the article, lol. It doesn't include the 2020 stats, and trust me, that isn't pretty for your boy Wentz

no clue but has Mitch's teammates ever talked down on him to the media in this manner?

Another unnamed teammate reportedly suggested that Wentz was entitled:

"Carson Wentz's biggest enemy is Carson Wentz. He's had his ass kissed his whole life, and sometimes acts like he's won 10 Super Bowls, when he hasn't played in, let alone won, a playoff game yet. Everyone around him wants good things for him. He did more thinking on the field than he did playing (in 2018). You don't have to be a brain surgeon or a football expert to see how differently this team plays and reacts with one guy as opposed to the other."

Please notice the year these articles and tweets were made.
