15.5 mil garunteed, all in first two years. So yes, can move on after 2 with no cap ramifications.

thanks, so that gives us a little wiggle room still this year

Three things I've learned this morning:
1. Phil Emery is a fucking genius.
2. Cliff Stein is a fucking magician.
3. Brad Biggs needs to be placed in a burning, inflatable raft and set adrift in the Indian Ocean.

No, Biggs is great. He repeatedly makes an ass of himself with his non-source sources and zero insight. He is almost an anti-truth. Just bet against what he says and you would be right more often than not.

i love the direction Emery is taking with the lockeroom. I've always though we had a real quiet locker room. Bringing in Allen, Houston, and Young all guys with big celebrations, cocky, and loud personalities he's spicing up this locker room.
Good point and they are all leaders on the field with voices which we didn't have last year cause Briggs,Peppers and Tillman while i love all three just aren't the most vocal guys out there.

It's a 4yr/ $32M deal for Jared Allen that voids to 3yrs/$24M with $15.5M guaranteed.

remydat does not like this signing.

Do I think it is too much money for Allen? Yes. Am I going to bitch and moan about it. No. They overpaid IMO but it's not going to be the end of the world and it's a reasonable gamble to take. Also, with Young and Houston on board as guys who are good/great against the run then adding Allen as more of the pass rush specialist is fine. If the money is only guaranteed through 2 years and there is no signing bonus then that's even better.

So all in all, I think it's a good gamble for the Bears and they have hedged their risk here by getting Young and Houston.

This DL is so much more talent and deeper than last season.

Does Houston have any experience sliding to the inside on passing downs? If so I could see having Young as a rotation guy for Allen and Young and on 3rd and long sliding Houston to the inside with Young and Allen on the outside and whichever DT we snag in the draft. But this move is a good move considering our pass rush last year. Just the Houston and Young signings didn't make me feel the pass rush got better (at least not until after the draft), but the addition of Allen makes the d-line look a little more legit.
no doubt with allen here now and if they go dt in the first im thinking we could be fixing to see a turn around very similar to the oline turnaround im seriously beginning to develop a mancrush on emery fuckin guy knows what hes doing its great to see someone whos not a total idiot in charge of building your team

lololololol

Younger than Peppers and got Allen for less money..

Oh, yeah.. By the way- cranked in 11.5 sacks last year on a HORRIBLE Vikings team and D. Peppers was thought to half ass it last year even tho Bears were contending.. Allen still cranks out 11 sacks with a team that sucked bad. lololol. Overpaid my ass- this is perfect.

The dude had 22 sacks 3 seasons ago-- really? He's not turning 35 here dude. Bears got a deal on him and this is AWESOME
