Ouch, I think that's the worst shooting game of Gordon's career. He was even 3-6 from the line.

Yea, awful game for ben. It was his first bad game in Detroit. It will bring his stats back down to earth a bit.

Was this the worst game of his career? Going like 1-10 is the worst I really remember him doing here.

“You can’t turn shots down,” Gordon said after Sunday’s game. “They didn't feel good and they didn't look good, either. You'll have games like that every once in awhile. I've just got to bounce back.”

Despite Gordon’s rough night, he got the ball when the Pistons had a chance in the final seconds trailing by 3, but his 3-pointer missed the mark with 1.9 seconds left.

“I wanted him to have the last shot,” Detroit coach John Kuester said. “I have the utmost respect and confidence in Ben Gordon.”

Wow, talk about a good coach.

My playing with basketball reference suggests so. His previous low in points with 15+ shots was 7. The only game that could possibly challenge is a 0-10 against Toronto in 2005, but he at least went 6-6 on free throws that game.

Funny how this thread has hit the third page ... it's almost like there's something causing a lack of interest in talking about Gordon? Since a few vocal Gordon fans have been happy to talk in this language, I have to ask ...

Why is Ben Gordon getting a free pass for scoring 69 points on 74 shots over the last 5 losses?

I kid, I kid.

he's the focus of the offense. really you think people are guarding stucky, charlie v, and wallace? really? he's got the same problem as derrick rose. he's the only scoring threat on a terrible team(well Detroit is terrible. we just need to get our offense into gear). plus the guy is in a shooting slump. do you expect him to be immaculate year round?

Actually I didn't, its others on this forum who acted like dude could walk on water...not me.

And I watch the games, he is not being doubled or anything like that, he just ain't shootin' straight. And his numbers are coming back to his career averages and in some instances below it. I think he is a pretty good player. But you need to holla at some of the people who made idiotic statements like he is going to be an MVP candidate. I just don't see it...

No, but people were posting about how awesome he was during his good play, while I was saying he's the same as on the Bulls, just having a few good games. Unsurprisingly his numbers are now around where he was on the Bulls.

But it was more fun to post ironically and ask why people are giving him a free pass. ;)

Ben Gordon sprained his ankle against the Cavs tonight. If he's out for 2+ weeks, then the Pistons are DONE as far as the playoff race will be concerned imo. I wouldn't be shocked if they went winless while Gordon is out.

Hamilton/Prince are coming back in a few weeks. If Gordon could have kept them floating at a .350-.500 pace over the next few weeks, they could have been in the picture.

But they're going to have few weeks of .000-.150 winning, and will fall maybe 10 games below .500. Yeah, you can come back from that, but it's no easy feat.

They've been going winless with Gordon in anyway. Either way Detroit extending their losing run is excellent news for the Bulls.
