But wait, you didn't mention DesPlaines.....

LOL. It's close.... But sadly I have to admit London, Vienna and Prague all have a little more things to do than my home town. Des Plaines is most def number 1 on my Merica list. :yep: :nope:

The answer to both is...Rio de Janeiro. It's like this perfect blend of Heaven and Hell made into a city.

My great aunt lives in des plaines in a riot-proof condo block. She is 98, ultra-Catholic, and asks us "why hasn't God let me die yet?" I don't know what else to say besides "you're the expert, why don't you ask Him?"

I thought of putting Decatur as my worst. That town was actually nice when I was a kid. But it's almost up recognizable now after all the job losses.

My grandma who was also ultra Catholic used to ask the same shit before she died. I swear she spent the last 20 years praying to die. I finally told her one time she should pray to live since God obviously doesn't listen to her prayers.

Worst City

NYC right down the road. I hate the place, it's the biggest landfill I've ever seen in my life.

ND is horrible.
LA has been described as a great place to live, but a horrible place to visit. I'd have to agree. As a long time LA resident, I love it here, but whenever I see tourists, I always think to myself that they must be disappointed.

I know probably 7 people/couples who live in or around LA, and no one really talks about how great anything is there besides the weather.

Great place to live?

Maybe if you're dumb and want to feel better about yourself......hey, lets go workout and post some pics of a toddler in a fedora on instagram!!!

Des Plaines people, did you go to MW then?

Santa Cruz is terrific. Great weather without the big city issues

It's different for everyone. I worked in Phoenix for awhile and really liked it. Which is why I moved here. As long as you can take the four months of heat its great. That and it's not hot in the pool. That and Arizona is easy on the wallet tax wise.

Yep, I had the "pleasure" of going to Maine West.

There is certainly a big pretentious and narcissistic population out here. I can't stand them and it's one of the big negatives of LA, but they are mostly confined to the Westside area, so they are easily avoided, unless you work in the entertainment industry. Traffic, taxes, cost of living, and the drab architecture are some other negatives.

But I'm able to put up with all the crap due to the awesome weather (which can't be understated; even when it's hot, it's dry heat, so I'm not dying like I did when I was in Florida) and entertainment options. You'll never get bored living in LA, but as a tourist who'll only be here for a week or so, I can see how this place kinda sucks. I appreciate LA more and more as I visit other cities. Only other place I'd rather live would be San Diego or SF Bay Area.

I like Portland.

San Fransisco, Seattle, New Orleans and Austin are all fun cities.

Lots of my friends left SF (and Seattle) for Portland due to the cost of living, cheaper real estate and being a bit more livable. Portland is like SF was 30 years ago.

Too many bad cities to list.

Glad I live in the Pacific NW.

My friend has lived in Culver City for 20 years and loves it. So much to do!

If you got rid of all the canucklheads, it'd be a great city.
