As for the Oilers...

I would want to look at that team. They should probably try to get Stallock back too,

But Kane can support Draisatl and allow McDavid to form his own compliments out of who knows ..he isn't a normal player.

You would be curious to see what Kane does with the weird spaces McDavid creates. It could be magic.

For a team that needs something to change Kane is a roll of dice.

So supposedly, the Athletic is reporting that Kane and Toews are essentially dragging their feet and tying Davidson's hands. They also said that Kane is 50% intent on leaving and Toews is even lower than that, 25 I think (paraphrasing).

I said before that I wouldn't be surprised if Toews retires; this makes me think that even more now. I mean yes, Chicago as a city is great, but there has to be more than that. Maybe Kane is contemplating retirement as well? He did just have a baby not too long ago and he's already won everything under the sun; same with Toews.

Anyways, one takeaway is that, if by some chance these guys don't get moved, it may be due to them dragging their feet and not Davidson's fault. Seems like neither one of them knows what they want to do yet, even though we're less than a month away from the deadline and trade opportunities are already being squandered (i.e. New York for Kane).

Yeah I was thinking the hold up was they are asking full value for Kane.
Either that or as someone on another board said, Kane's looking for an extension. Assuming the Rags didn't want to sign him to an extension he liked, I can see Kane putting the kybosh on the move.

Toews/Kane
Anything we get at this stage is a win. Smiles.

Keep Lafferty and Kurashev. Team has to have an engine room. Keep Athanasou/Tinordi

Trade Domi/TJ/Murphy/McCabe/JJ/Stallock

I thought we were just going to use the general thread for all this?

Destinations for Kane are fading fast. Not sure if price will go up or down at this point.

I think Toews injury is trade related, but NHL network said he had to come back and prove himself healthy BEFORE he can be traded.

But with his salary and history, resting him until the week of deadline makes the most sense.

The thing with Lafferty especially for me, but also Anathssou and Domi...is you have to have hockey IQ in every clubhouse or you aren't developing properly.

We have some smart guys and veterans around who can lead by example and while some will surely go .. we gotta keep a couple to show the next wave the little things.

It's gonna be a couple solid years from this next week or two here...maybe 3 solid years of youth development, learning how to play the game, having energy lapses, and making minor league decisions solely with player development in mind.

This did not age well.

Well ****.

The Blues got some nice picks in that trade, that was really the best deal for us but I have to agree O'Reilly is a more impactful player at this point.

They have Marner and Tavares so Kane was a bit redundant.

I think Kane should go to Vegas, Edmonton, Carolina, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, or Minnesota and he makes things mighty interesting for any of those teams.

I include Boston because the President's trophy traditionally means Dick, and their biggest issue for years has been secondary scoring.

Kane would just cement that it won't be the case come playoffs, and they could form a wicked top 9 with Kane and send wild combinations for 60 minutes.

I ll say it again, get ready to be disappointed in Hawks trade action, I just don't see much going anywhere except Laff, unless you get some other team to help in the eating of contracts, just for a Kane deal alone you need two teams to help that contract, then you want them to take on a McCabe @4m on top of that? Thats the rumour out of Edmonton, which means you gotta take Parv or Yakamoto in return aswell

I don’t like losing young smart guys like Lafferty until they get beat out on the ice unless the return is Hagel, or even a half Hagel is good for Lafferty or Kane.

They shouldn’t play this greedy but clean the house and stack the deck.

Lafferty is gonna be 29 next year. He’s not a piece to keep around, and since his trade value is as high as it’s going to get, time to flip. Toews is on the shelf with same symptoms as before. I don’t even think he’ll play again this year. Maybe they will try to get him dressed at the end of the season for one last home game so he can go out on his own terms then retire. No reason to keep putting himself through this.

KD has to start accumulating second round picks. They’re as good as a first rounder this draft.

Calium Ritchie, who was a top ten pick a few months ago, is now rating a second round pick on a couple mocks. This draft is so deep you can throw a dart at 55 players who can make a considerable impact in the future.

One guy I’m looking at for the Hawks TB first is Oliver Moore. He will be the fastest guy in this draft and top five in the NHL. He’s a Smurf currently, but him and Lazar down the middle would be fun to watch for disrupting teams with their speed.

This draft will make or break the rebuild. Gotta start thinking Kane and Toews ain’t going anywhere and KD needs to grab his balls from Wirtz’s man purse and start getting rid of guys before all the playoff teams load up. Waiting until the deadline is stupid when teams have already started making moves.

Sadly it sounds like Toews is finished with LT-Covid + fucked immune system, he never gonna skate again I'm afraid.

And now Kane prob is not going anywhere either.....these dumb fucks in the FO, I have been ranting consistently for 4 years to trade both players since they had no shot at ever winning again in Chicago. As expected, too late now.

Yup. He just came out and said he’s not getting traded.

If he’s seriously at 240 pounds(which is the unsubstantiated rumor), which is 40 pounds heavier then his game weight, whatever ailment he has is kicking his ass.

Maybe get a home game skate around one last time and call it a hof career. I’m not too keen on either going but I sure as shit would like Toews health to be more important then a fucking draft pick.

Seems like the opposite would be more likely that he has lost a lot of weight. Who has much of an appetite when you feel like crap? Also why there have been rumors that he is vegan might have been early onset for whatever he has going on. Autoimmune can manifest in a lot of ways and tolerance of certain foods is one of them.
