Eh, in the end I must judge everything by the sheer lunacy of Tallon giving Kopecky $3 mil per. Judged in that light, Montador at $2.75 per is not even close to being TRULY appalling or anything (besides the fact that I only ever believed at worst it's a $500K per overpayment). And really, if you wanna feel better about your own roster cap hits always do a quick peek at some of the junk CGY has signed and for what (and usually with NMC/NTC clauses!)---that'll perk you right the **** on up!

Yeah I realize about Dale needing to spend mega-bucks to reach the floor and of course Kopecky deserved some measure of a raise to be sure but come on Klem. . .4 years? Two years I could see in order to get TK to not feel like he's wasting his time and ink the deal but 4 years is a longass time to have to deal with Kopecky. Well hopefully dude carves out a nice niche for himself there because his attitude is fantastic---perhaps the Panthers will not mis-slot him like Q was inclined to. They leave him on their 4th, maybe 3rd line and don't ask him to play up to a level of skill he doesn't have and he should be productive and fine for them.
