you're comparing going to a team w/ Wade and Bosh (two all-star starters) to a team with Rose, Deng, Gibson and Noah? A group that consisted of one all-star appearance (as a reserve) among them? Remember, at the beginning of this season, Rose was considered about the 5th-6th best PG in the game.

:obama: :turrible:

Rose Noah Deng are all high to quality NBA players....again..how would James coming here have proved he could win it "alone"?

How many star players have won championships "alone"? Olajuwon in 1994?..and who else?

Demanding or expecting to James to win a championship "alone" makes no sense when taking into context the history of the NBA.

Now that I've had some time to calm down (and a couple shots of SoCo...), I've formulated what's going on in my head about this whole season.

1. Regardless of what happens Thursday, the Bulls have made almost all of the steps in the right direction that are needed. They have arguably one of, if not the best, benches in the league. Brewer plays solid D and can make some clutch shots as needed, as demonstrated tonight. Korver, more times than not is lights out behind the arc. Tonight was just one of those nights that he couldn't shoot his way out of a wet paper bag. Asik is just a beast. And Scal is going to win the MVP next year. :shifty:

2. As has been stated a few different times, Rose needs a number two guy - a guy who can make plays, play some defense, and just be a huge presence offensively and defensively on the court. I figured that guy was going to be Boozer, but he's not the 20-10 guy I had anticipated. So, if the Bulls pick up a SG, they'll be in better shape for sure.

3. Thibs. Enough said there.

4. Again, regardless of what happens Thursday, the Bulls are going to come back again next year, hopefully after doing some good stuff in the offseason, and make this run again. I'm really disappointed right now and I'm not going to pretend to be a huge Bulls fan, but it's awesome to see a Chicago (other than the Sox :shifty:) team doing this.

5. It's not over until it's over - the Hawks showed us that just a few weeks ago. We've got 2 of the 3 (potentially) remaining games at home, so hopefully some of the questionable calls will go in our favor and the fans will get behind D Rose and company and we can force a game 6 back in Miami. Win that one and it comes down to a final game in the Chi. It's not over until it's over.

Rose looks dead tired.

Rose 2011 = LeBron 2009-2010

Sad but true. There is no one man who can win a championship by himself...yet. It might happen in 30 years, but right now, no one can do it. But I do hope that Dirk does it so the Heat won't win. xD

if winning it "alone" is considered a big accomplishment (as it would've been if he would've won in Cleveland) then going to a team w/ two other guys considered top 5-10 in the league diminishes a championship run. LBJ's gonna get his 'ships, no doubt...he's too good of a player to not get one.

All of this is irrelevant until lbj gets his first ring anyway...then we can all ***** about whether or not he's top 3 all time...b/c that will be the conversation.

Dirk and Rose are far from alone compared to Lebron's teams in CLE. Dallas has a great team they are far from a one man show. The difference between Chicago and Dallas is Dallas doesn't rely on Dirk for 60% of the production like Chicago does with Rose. Dallas is a very team veteran team far from a one man show. Obviously if Dirk isnt there they are in trouble. But his teammates and coach do a great job of getting him the ball in a great position.

Chicago just needs time to grow Drose is only 22 he will get better and his teammates will get better much like OKC this year they are a year or two a way. Plus you guys can add a few veteran players to help Drose out this off season.

I agree, they're better than Lebron's Cleveland teams and we're better too, but unlike Miami and NY, they don't have more than one of the league's top talents. They're a very savvy veteran team, but they're old, and I think that is what will cause them the most problems against the Heat.

I don't think the Bulls second championship run was diminished because they had Jordan Pippen(both top 10 players) and Rodman who was easily the best defender and rebounder in the league at the time.

People can be pissed all they want but if those three guys came here no one would be talking about "diminished championship runs".

I find the hypocrisy annoying.

I'm not sure what you're looking for at a Chicago message board. A lot of people on here aren't objective. Nor should you expect them to be.

Rodman isn't in the kind of category as Bosh though. Rodman was a one dimensional player (granted one of the best ever), and Bosh is a two way player (at least his defense is miles ahead of Rodman's offense). That kind of tandem has never happened.

They don't have to be...but they shouldn't become angry at fans who are objective...

I'm not angry at any of you...just stating the way I feel. It'll probably change in the morning.

Regardless, I still feel like w/ the team-ups we're seeing, it's Howard-or-Bust w/ us.

What Dallas has what you guys lack is great ball movement a true lost art in the NBA today. They play like a 90s NBA team. They also have much better scorers off the bench in Jason Terry and Peja and J.J really stretch the floor and make room for Dirk and his passing is truly great out of double teams.

I still think a team with a font court and who has a veteran pg who wont turn the ball over can beat the Heat. Because if you aren't turning the ball over and slowing the game down it takes Miamis strength away. I still dont see Dallas beating them. But that would be great how ironic would it be if the only big name FA who stayed in place Dirk beat the big 3 and won a title. I would also like to see JKidd get one. I think they have a good shot at beating the heat but i don't know if they will.

So we're not allowed to be upset after our team crashes and burns to our probably soon to become (or already has become) rival? We can't be upset that our little Cinderella story is all but over? I must say then, you are a far stronger man than me, Houston Smith. Props.

you'd think Stern would WANT the Bulls to compete for the finals every year...great sports city w/ great following. if only the three stooges teamed up in Sacramento....

Rodman? at that age maybe not but Rodman in his prime i would take over a Bosh any day to pair with Lebron and Dwade a dirty worker who will grab 15 rebs. Rodman was an amazing player in his day but in 98 he was pretty old i will give u that.

I guess it is what ever you perfer I just really like a great defender slash shot blocker slash rebounder to play with stars like Ibaka is in OKC.

No you have ever right to be mad that's what sports is about rooting hard for your team.

Miami's greatest strengths are how they have 3 guys who can take over a game at any time and 3 guys who can generate all the fouls in the world. Rodman's defense (albeit as fantastic as it was) just isn't the same as that kind of offense. Now if you have those 3 and a Rodman...now that would just be beating a dead horse...

Well......they are.....

You'd also think that Stern would want the powerful ally that is Reinsdorf as you head into the off-season. Of course, Stern did freeze his second draft lottery envelope a couple seasons ago - so he did do something.
