No ones throwing the towel on caleb.

He was just promissed to be generational and amazing but he's been anything but that. Guy has left like 1k yards and 10 touchdowns on the field this year with his shitty and inconsistent play. And these are layups, not even difficult throws.

If Rome Odunze was drafted to a team with a veteran QB he'd have 1k yards+

Not buying that. That pot is already simmering and next year with a new HC, probably a new GM, and a bunch of new additions plus the offseason hype if Caleb doesn’t look like at least a top 10 QB this fan base will be in full meltdown mode by the 3rd game.

People mention Josh Allen and other QBs that took 3 years to develop….. this fan base won’t give him that. He will get around 3 games next year before he becomes the full focal point of all their angst.

the same twits who were ready to give Fields 4 years and he will be looking for a bridge QB contract entering his 5th year.
The butt hurt nuthuggers aren't the majority of fans by a longshot.

To be fair, he looks like he was looking for the big play to the left. But either way, when he needs to pick up a first, he should know what the defense is running and where his guys will be at. I know it takes some time to learn it, but I’m hoping he ain’t doing this in his 4th year, like Fields is. We can only hope.

So Justin fields? Big play hunting?

Actually I’m starting to do that now. 15 games in he shouldn’t be missing lay ups to Keenan Allen. He should be dumping it off to the rb or te. He needs to help his Oline out. He shouldn’t be overthrowing wide open receivers. If he continues this with the new coaching staff we are cooked. And we are back at square 1

Exactly. If the season doesn’t start well it will get ugly fast.

It’s been happening all season long, but too many fans and local media personalities ignore it because they don’t want to admit they were wrong about him being a generational quarterback.
I think every fan has acknowledged that his deep passing is concerning... people have been talking about it since very early in the season.

Im not ready to throw the towel in on CW. There are a lot of QB's that had rough starts and turned out very good.. Allen for the Bills is one of them. His first couple seasons the fans wanted to run him out of town on a rail
im not throwing in the towel on him, either. i think he can still end up being a good QB. just throwing cold water on the notion he was elite

TBH, Fields threw a better deep ball than Caleb has shown this year. I hope he pulls it together, but I don't consider a guy whose accuracy is limited to short and intermediate passes to be generational, unless you consider Chad Pennington generational. He can't be considered elite if he can't stretch the field.

To be fair, his receivers aren't helping with some of the drops either

Can we please stop using the word generational?

It’s the stupidest term that gets thrown around the NFL

Can’t wait for the season to be over. Hopefully the real causes of this fucking nightmare are dealt with instead of just poking at a symptom

Buddy was in Wrigleyville chanting "Green Bay Sucks" in the offseason and is going to go 0-6 in the division and end the season with an 11 game losing streak.

He fed into the hype wildly and now has zero answers. Not good.

On anyone. Calling a college player generational is just dumb as all fuk.
only when they are truly generational! I.E. - Peyton Manning(the last truly generational QB, we gotta wait a while for the next one!)

You don’t know if a college player is “truly generational” until after they play several years in the NFL. Hence calling them generational in college is special.

Generational is a term that should be used looking past tense and not looking forward
