Thanks for the video Klem.

Anyone defending Carcillo has rose colored glasses on. That was pathetic on his behalf. Players are totally defenseless on those kind of hits from behind.

Exactly. Anything else being argued is moot. Carcillo shoved him dangerously into the boards not letting up when he saw that Gilbert was defenseless. Textbook boarding whether ot not the hit was from behind. Major due to the severity. Instant karma got him with his torqued knee, and easily a 4-8 gamer in my books.

...and this coming from me--the guy who loved seeing Scott Ragdoll Westgarth, Wiz ragdoll Tootoo, Loved Campbell's open ice hit on Umberger, loved Seabs putting Cleary into the bench, loved Hextall giving Chelios a well-deserved beatdown, and of course has a special place in his heart for guys like Probert, Twist, Grimson, Domi, etc.

it was an easy call to make. There's a big difference between checking someone into the boards as opposed to launching an off balance player into them.

I am not going to defend Danny one bit. It was lame brained to hit the guy instead of to try and play the puck. BUT, I don't think he expected that kind of an outcome, therefore no intent to injure was involved. I also don't think the defenseman was off balance before the push/shove/hit/boarding. He just pushed him that fucking hard.

I can't even fathom what he will get for this, but I'm thinking five games.

Either way, what a dumb decision on his part. Terrible hockey play.

He didn't expect that kind of outcome for himself or for Gilbert? Because I don't see what else you could expect going at him with that kind of speed heading towards the boards. Pretty short list of what's going to happen.

I tried to like Carcillo. I was excited we signed him, I felt he had more talent than he ever got to display in Philly. But the stupid penalties that I thought might be behind him playing for a classy organization, instead of the neanderthals of Philly but it turns out I was wrong. At this point I don't want to see Carcillo return next season. I don't feel he adds anything to the roster that someone else couldn't do.

No or-gan-i-za-tion run by Mcfucksticklicker could be defined as "classy"

No I meant for Gilbert. I think he expected him to glide or fly face first at the glass and use his hands to brace himself or hit his shoulder. It was definitely boarding either way. I just don't think he expected Gilbert to turn sideways or go horizontal in the air like that.

Again, it doesn't matter because he shouldn't have done it, he should get suspended, and he is a dumbass, which we already knew when Scooter signed him.

I kept an open mind when carcillo was signed and the first two weeks of the season he was great. But now, with more evidence in, its obvious he's just a goon. I'd dump him. last night sealed the deal for me.

No amount of games can be too many for that hit. Shit like that also endangers our skill guys who could suffer a serious injury from a retaliatory hit.

Now I almost wish we had paid him more so we could have more cap space while he's on the IR. (if he is indeed going there). TDL is going to be interesting.

Suspended indefinitely or until a hearing likely tomorrow. Knew that was coming. Dumb ass.

"But it was just a love tap, Mr Shanahan. Besides, it was ME who got hurt."

I'm upping my guess to 7 games.

Spot on. It was a cowardly, douchebag play that showed NO RESPECT for his opponent.

In one moment, Carcillo
  1. Embarrassed the Hawks organ-I-zation,
  2. Embarrased Hawks fans and
  3. Cost the Hawks the game with an assine penalty.

If we wanted to cheer for douchebags, we should go all in and sign Raffi Torres, Todd Buttuzzi and "Biter" Burrows and then hire Hunter away from Washington to coach our team.

I am all for rough, tough play, but never disrespectful play. This guy has a CONSTANT track record of the latter and I never want to see him in the Indianhead again.

That might be his last game in a Hawks sweater depending on his injury.

And I'm not embarassed as a Hawk fan. Shit like that, with players not thinking properly, happen all the time.

Hossa would have been suspended during the Cup playoffs had he done that hit now. Where would the Hawks chances been to win the Cup without Hossa?

Little overboard there Espo, other than impacting the loss. Which I might add I'm not 100% sure he caused it. They did tie the game 2-2 and still let the oilers walk all over them after.
