Yeah I know it wasn't called but that was still a shitty hit. And he may have some hits but he ran his mouth in the off-season and I haven't seen him lay any lumber on anyone, and specifically none on the guys he called out before he'd ever seen the ice for us. Mayers has done way more enforcing than Carcillo.

It's a big positive that Carcillo has been a more legit player and still throwing hits outthere instead of being a headhunter and going directly after Torres. I don't see what the issue with that would be.

Carcillo has done his job so far. Stalberg should not lead the team in hits (he did last year) Adding Carcillo added some toughness. The nice thing is that Carcillo has also played some good offense. That might end soon, but he's been doing what we expected and more.

Stalberg was 5th in hits for the Hawks last year - I only looked it up because I knew Brouwer was #1 (these stats were from NHL.com).

1. Brouwer - 262
2. Seabrook - 227
3. Bickell - 178
4. Dowell - 107
5. Stalberg - 102
6. Campoli - 99

Ahh. My bad. I knew that couldn't be right. Still, he shouldn't even be that high.

^^^ No worries. Makes you realize how much we lost in the offseason with Brouwer, Dowell (even though easily replaced) and Campoli leaving. Not to mention...Bickell playing some uninspired hockey lately.

WTF is wrong with Bickell? That dude has gone COMPLETELY off the reservation. I don't even care if he scores or gets any helpers, but with his size, on the "checking line", he needs to at LEAST put out some fricking effort. He looks like he doesn't give a shit.

I've been disappointed in Bickell lately, but I don't think it will last all season long. Brouwer and Dowell were good (Campoli too) but I don't miss them that much. Brouwer had his bad games and so did Dowell. I'm happy with the team now. They're not perfect, but good enough.

You know what? I absolutely love Versteeg and the Panthers are my third team, but he didn't belong on the Hawks. He works well as one of the top guys in Florida. In Chicago, he isn't a top guy because we have Toews, Kane, Hossa, and Sharp. Versteeg has what, 26 points now? In Chicago, we're lucky if he has 16. Different teams, different production.

Stalberg did shit on the Leafs and found his niche in Chicago with one of the best players in the league dishing the puck to him.

It all depends on who is around the guy and how he fits in with the team and their philosophy.

Bickell over Smith. Stupid. Bickell has done nothing to deserve the starting role. Gotta give Smith a chance.

Versteeg would be a fine fit on the Chicago top 6.

But can we stop talking about a fucking Florida Panther in the Chicago Blackhawks Rip/Praise player thread?

Thanks.

Praise to Stalberg. Every since he was put on the 1st line with Toews the two have produced, and show great chemistry. Also the two of them have 6 comined GWG.
