Brenly said it best last night, "there are no style points in baseball" after Castro's showboating play where he posed on a routine grounder allowing Uggla to beat the throw to first. I wonder why there is no accountability or ramifications on Castro's lax attitude toward his defensive play by the Cubs organization.

Bruce Levine (1:33 PM)

There are ramifications. I think he gets calle dinto the principal's office on numerous occasions. Then it's up to assistant principal Pat Listach to work out the kinks on the field. If it were Bobby Cox managing, he might have been pulled out of a few games.

Apparently Bruce Levine was not watching the game, nor was he paying attention to what his colleague wrote.

When he was told that Rizzo took the blame on the play he said that was just Rizzo being a good teammate. Never let anything get in the way of the narrative, Bruce.

I haven't gone back to watch it either to be honest, but it seemed like the conclusion that many came to last night.

Cubs lineup: DeJesus CF, Castro SS, Rizzo 1B, Soriano LF, LaHair RF, Clevenger C, Barney 2B, Valbuena 3B, Volstad P

I guess Soto is in platooned beast mode.

Okay anyone remember when they showed a replay that has the angle of where Rizzo was. I watched the original play and the best I could find is a shot where Rizzo is behind Samardzija at an angle. It looks like he is far off the bag at the time, but it is really hard to tell how far with the camera angle.

Tell the kid it's important

Too bad Rizzo didn't hit that just a bit farther. No no-hitter for ATL!

Nice play by Castro to help limit the damage. Silly Volstad.
