Generally speaking, there’s nothing wrong with interviewing a lot of guys. But you need to have a direction for the franchise and the team’s identity.
Interviewing so many different types of coaches and so many different types of personalities from so many different cultural backgrounds (with so many people on each Zoom call) gives the perception of a franchise without direction who’s just throwing a bunch of shit at the wall.
I think there is a potential misconception on possibly 2 fronts.
1st: Are there really all those people on every zoom call? I could see who is really, actually on a given call changing - ie, only the really necessary people being on the call for a Johnson, a Vrabel, a Joe Brady, etc interview.
2nd: Even if there are a bunch of people on each zoom call, that all those people actually participate. I have been on more meetings than I care to remember where there are shit ton of people on the call, but only 2-3 people actually do or say anything. Don't get me wrong, still not a great look. But, I would expect all of those 'extra' people to just be listening and not talking.
