But there is no way to prove your assertion. This becomes a case where you cry about the Rooney rule anytime you feel someone is a weaker candidate or you claim the Rooney Rule isnt the reason Poles or Brad Holmes got a job because well they would have been interviewed anyways. Ignoring of course they may have been one of those weaker candidates in a previous hiring cycle who got an interview and feedback which helped prepare them for the job they did get.

What makes the crying even dumber is the Bears have interviewed a bunch of weaker white candidates but when weak white candidates get an interview no one cries about that to the same extent. Or let me guess you think the Iowa St coach is a fine candidate?
You sound racist, just the fact that you notice those things. Isn’t time to move on already?

The reality is the Bears have interviewed a wide variety of lesser known candidates whether they are white or minority so don't think George is strictly Rooney rule. He is likely in the category of guys like Campbell, Stenavich, Smith, Weaver, Kafka, Petzing where the Bears want to hear different ideas and possibly get a head start on building out the staff.

And those guys accept because it gives them valuable experience regarding how the interview process works as well as feedback on what development they need to improve themselves. Most guys rarely get hired the first time they interview.
You know what would make sense is if they changed the RR to be enforced after the HC is hired, so the candidates that would get overlooked like Eddie George, do you get a chance to go though the interview process for a running backs coach or even offense coordinator to fill out the staff.

In the mod forum planning your ban
People have some pretty crazy hangups on Kingsbury. I guaran-frickin-tee that if he came here, the Bears at the very least would have one of the better offenses in the league.
I don’t worry about his offenses, I’m concerned with the whole team. If we wanted just offense again, there’s a dork who coached in the CFL that we should call

It’s funny/sad/pathetic how this Montucky guy got made fun of for being compete jackass so now he’s decided to go full heel in some lame attempt to stick it to everybody. Get a grip dude. You have the coping skills of a 10 year old.

I can’t imagine my feelings being so hurt that I’d completely alter my persona on a message board into the villain because some people disagreed with my irrational negativity. The doubling down of it all. People are really stupid. In his head he thinks his negative posting is some sort of revenge for getting made fun of lol.

Is anybody actually reading anything he posts anymore? I can’t imagine there are many. I see the screen name and move on. There’s no point.
No, im just reading everyone respond to him over and over and over and over

I’m not going back and reading, but is somebody trying to assert Eddie George is only being interviewed to satisfy the Rooney Rule? Isn’t he like the sixth minority candidate they’ve interviewed?

While meaningless for us as fans I think it’s an opportunity for guys like Poles to manifest relationships and do favors for cohorts in the league. It’s something to put on their resume. That they interviewed for a head coaching gig. They know who the top candidates are. What’s it hurt though? Let so and so come in and see what happens. Maybe you form a relationship with a guy and learn something.

And they can‘t really win with irrational people who just want to whine and ***** about anything anyway. You can create whatever narrative you want. If they interview 4 guys and whiff with the choice then those same people would be crying about how they “ONLY INTERVIEWED 4 PEOPLE!!!!!!! THEY’RE INCOMPETENT!!! THEY HAD AS MANY INTERVIEWS AS THEY WANTED AND THEY ONLY INTERVIEWED 4 PEOPLE. FIRE EVERYBODY!!!!”

If that's the case then it would make us look even more ridiculous as a franchise than we already do.

You are missing something, it’s the understanding of how the Rooney rule works. You have to interview two minority external candidates in person. Before Eddie George that only had one and that was Rivera.

They 100% did this interview to satisfy the rule, it’s why it was in person. The timing was so they can move quickly next week on a hire with zero restrictions.

For George he gets to be wined and dined and learn about an nfl interview which is good for his career development.

That’s exactly what I’m saying. I don’t think they are interviewing him simply to satisfy the Rooney rule.

Except I didnt notice it. Bears interviewed white and black candidates of similar quality. You sound racist because you crying about the supposed weak black candidates while saying nothing about the weak white candidates.

They already require minority candidates to be interviewed for coordinator positions as well.

One clarifcation. It was in person to satisfy the rule. They likely interview him regardless as they have interviewed like 17 people.

They easily could have brought in Glenn or Flores in person tomorrow so again was likley the case they wanted to interview George regardless and easy enough to make it in person.

It’s better to have the RR satisfied prior to BJ’s availability though.

I doubt he is getting hired without an in person regardless. So more than likely interviews early this week before a decision.

And that’s why they are interviewing Ed George, as some black horse candidate right before the guy they want becomes available. Maybe try thinking before you post.
Quite a few idiot racists on this board I see. That Montucky guy has brought out the Klan from their trailer parks.

Raises legit questions about some the straight up hate that Poles and Warren receive
