I'm getting the feeling more and more that the Bears are going to end up with McCarthy. I don't know how I feel about that. I think McCarthy can put together winning regular seasons, but I don't see him winning another Superbowl. I dunno.
if he develops CW and we keep going one and done in the playoffs we can always look for a new HC.. at least CW will have a solid 4-5 years to properly be developed

Except I didnt notice it. Bears interviewed white and black candidates of similar quality. You sound racist because you crying about the supposed weak black candidates while saying nothing about the weak white candidates.
You still I sound a little racist or you are just a very confused person. First of all, I’m not crying about any candidate that they’re interviewing. You’re the one who is talking about race. I’m just saying the way that they went about it was embarrassing. Eddie George should’ve said **** you I’m an intelligent man and a damn good coach, and I am not your token black guy who is going to dance and entertain you to make you feel better about yourself.

No Eddie George is obviously not at the level in his career to jump to being a NFL Head Coach! Could he be an assistant coach in the NFL? That’s more likely, but if the Bears were serious, why didn’t they wait until they hire their head coach first? It’s shameful that the great Eddie George even agreed.

As far as Having something good to put on your résumé, If the highlight of your fucking résumé is, I was a Rooney rule Interviewee, then No one is gonna take you serious.

If you don’t get it then you just don’t get it. Your racism makes you blind with hate. I’m not gonna sit here and argue with you because I know you’re a mean little man.

Well we're probably 10 or so days away from the hiring of the next Bears head coach.

I'll take a shot and say the three finalists are Johnson McCarthy and Monken.

Hate getting involved like this but you seem so certain that Eddie George doesn't belong at this level, something we don't have a clue about.

So, in your discussion with @remydat, please do tell exactly why Eddie George is so unqualified.

And you can't use experience. Not every HC hired has head coaching experience.

Ok now do Matt Campbell, Drew Petzing, Adam Stenavich and Mike Kafka?

Which of those are you claiming are ready to be Head Coaches and why?

So just strange you are singling out George and not the white coaches above.

Or it could be they view Eddie George as having a wealth of experience as both a player and as a coach. Perhaps they like the running concepts he’s using. Perhaps they think he is a bright guy who they want on the staff under the offensive-minded HC they will ultimately hire.

Jeez, sometimes people always go to the extremes on things. All of the above are more sensible reasons to want to talk to the guy.

Eddie George was what, the 17th candidate they requested to interview? There is nothing sensible to it. It was a pointless interview. Plain and simple.

Because maybe the top HC candidates gave a list of coaches they may want for their staff.

Does it matter?

Look we don't know what Eddie George knows, if anything.

But if Kafka warrants an interview why not Eddie?

And it's not D2. FCS has never been D2.

Eh, I wouldn't say pointless. As it was in person, it means the Bears have satisfied the Rooney Rule.

For Eddie George, it gets his name back out in the media and reminds folks that he still exists and that he is coaching. It may open doors down the road assuming he wants to move up in the coaching ranks either to a bigger college program or to an NFL staff.

on edit: I would add that the Bears had previously brought him in during the 2023 offseason through the Bill Walsh diversity coaching fellowship. So, there was a preexisting connection between him and the organization and coaching.

Looks like the official accounts are starting to catch up to the rumor mills:

The only way that tweet makes sense is if something terrible is about to happen. If the Bears get BJ there would not be "chaos" as a reaction. The fans are even resigned to a MM/Pete type consolation prize. The only way "Bears X" as he put it descends into chaos if it's another D tier candidate that happened run into Poles at the Taco Bell and they bonded over their shared love of mexican pizzas so he decided to give him the job.

Buckle up...

McCarthy, Anthony Weaver and Arthur Smith being announced as the finalists would definitely cause chaos

Why?

Because it wasn’t first? Or eighth?

Why pointless? Was it more pointless than the Miami defensive coordinator or the Giants offensive guy?
