My favorite teams
FifyMcCarthy, Anthony Weaver and Arthur Smith being announced as the finalists would definitely cause chaos

They don't do it with the timing the Bears did it with, which is the entire point of my post. They waited months and then scrambled, and made it totally obvious they were doing it to satisify the rule.Every NFL team does this.
No one thinks the teams are clownshows for this - they think the rule itself is a clownshow and needs to somehow be overhauled.
Ben Johnson has to look at his schedule over the next few days? Is this guy serious he thinks he is God’s gift to coaching. Just do your interviews or make a decision.
That’s what I’ve been saying. People annointing him to Lombardi status and he’s called plays for a few years with a great roster.Ben Johnson has to look at his schedule over the next few days? Is this guy serious he thinks he is God’s gift to coaching. Just do your interviews or make a decision.
Raiders board says ' Looks like Ben is supposed to be in for an "in person" interview tomorrow.'
I would expect he signs shortly thereafter.
This beta is so extra.

I hope he goes to Vegas.
It's always a two-way street. It may be more important for a candidate to get into an interview cycle even though they understand that they don't have a realistic shot at the job. They're looking to get their name out there and get the experience. Many times, teams do this as a favor to the candidate or for the candidate's agent. Yes, it satisfies the Rooney Rule, but the Bears interviewed several minority candidates; it would have been relatively easy for them to get one of them in the building yesterday or today to satisfy the requirement ahead of their expected in-person with Johnson.Every NFL team does this.

Monken is a bad ass. That’s who I hope they land. I wouldn’t mind McCarthy either. He would bring a level of stupidity this franchise has t had in awhile. He is a horrible decision maker is how I see it. Passing on the Commanders last year, now passing on Bears and Jags this year for what?
So he passed on Daniels (or any QB he wanted), Caleb, Lawrence. Cause he has such a big ego he thinks he can make any QB good and wants power. Well we will see how good he is no doubt about that.

Some boomer on a board said it it must be true lol.
no, he's a HOF'er with over 15,000 posts.
Boomers don't waste that much time on a message board.
Crazy how things can change for a team in one offseason when you get a good/great QB and some good coaching. Lets all hope the Bears are next to make those changes.Seeing how Kliff was talking about his time in Washington... he's sounding a lot like Ben Johnson last season when he decided to stay in Detroit.
I don't blame him if he did decide to stay for another year. If they are this good right now with a rookie Jayden.... and they have over 100 million to play with this off-season? They could easily be one of the more dominant teams in the NFL for the next 3-4 years.
Why not ride that for a bit before jumping ship?
Ok, but there's more than just that one pointless interview. Bears are interviewing 17 candidates and people are acting as EG is somehow the next HC.For me I wouldn’t call it a trigger. I just view it as a pointless interview for the Bears HC search. It’s different if they brought him in to interview him as a positional coach. And that only makes sense if your top candidates wanted George as a positional coach.
Dude was busy also......Announcing an in-person interview with a guy who realistically has no shot at getting the job and that satisfies the Rooney Rule right after Ben Johnson unexpectedly becomes available seems like a clownshow move to me.
I have no problem with them interviewing George, within the context of this very large search. But it's the timing of it, and the idea that they had two months to do this and waited until this time to do so makes them seem woefully unprepared.
Did they interview coach slime yet?Jerry doesn't deal with HCs who don't have any HC experience or don't have a previous relationship with his org. The Dallas beat guys basically said there's no chance or Johnson there.
Kellen Moore if I had to guess.
I brought up how he's demanding all this money and he's doing what he's done with the best OL in football and a veteran QB that's already been to a Super Bowl and weapons everywhere on here before the season was even over and caught a ton of CCS shyt for saying that on here. That’s what I’ve been saying. People annointing him to Lombardi status and he’s called plays for a few years with a great roster.

Was busy for several months and then free right after the Lions lost?Dude was busy also......
