My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Another thing with Johnson being named as HC is names associated with him as possible assistants in D Allen, D Rizzi, OL Coach Fraley, Randell El. When nagy and flus were hired they really didn't have any big names or guys that might follow them as coaches

If McCarthy doesn't get a HC gig, does he try to stay in the game? Do the Bears try to bring him in as OC? Spend a year developing CW and become the cherry of next years hiring cycle.
lolwut?

McCarthy isn’t going to run Ben’s offense lol.

I’d bet BJ is going to be the play caller. The OC will be a puppet much like the OC under Reid

I would imagine he waits out the year similar to Vrabel and Belichick. He will do some media or become a consultant and not be under contract so he can sign as a HC before the next post season ends.
Consultant would work as well. No one wants to see a morbidly obese walrus with week old BBQ sauce in his beard talk about football.

Will he dust off Nagy's genius wall sized white board?

Oh man, that reminds me. The Bears are going to have to buy a new sign for the HC office now that they no longer have a Matt. Unless we find out Ben Johnson's middle name is actually Matt and he is willing and able to go by that instead.

on edit: Just checked wikipedia and apparently his middle name is David. So, definitely have to spring for a new sign for the HC office now.

Legitimately one of the stupidest coaching performances I've seen in years. I mean I know you don't have the horses to compete but **** man, how stupid are you????

Deal’s off then. Bears management has to have limits!

Glad we have the guy we have (BJ) but can’t take anything away from Freeman. . He is reason that long dormant program is back fighting for a championship — and he is the reason they fought back in this game and got it within 1 score.

He is a dynamic young coach with a super bright future. With the way he is recruiting, their time will come.

I can’t emphasize enough how important this would be. We had such loser coordinators with those coaches.

The most stable teams are those that can attract the better coordinators usually

That's an interesting question. In his case, having been HC twice, and leaving the last position of his own choice it seems, I think he may choose to sit out a year rather than be viewed as a coordinator.

That being said, New Orleans seems to want him from what we've been told. But that may be his only option, so if they go elsewhere, he may indeed be left out.

I would guess he stays out ala Belichik or does TV for a year.

And getting a good, stable OL coach would be massive. That is another theme you see of great teams.

I’m tired of the OL looking like clueless p*ssies that don’t hit people. Seems like they get hit in the mouth and immediately go into the fetal position.

Or the other favorite, literally blocking air while letting a defender runs right by them - sometimes even with good form, but literally just looking straight ahead and fucking blocking nothing while a defender runs right by them.

That Larry Borom missed block at the end of the Lions game was comical

You see the thing is you’re the one who actually brought up race first.

Do you remember saying this? “What makes the crying even dumber is the Bears have interviewed a bunch of weaker white candidates but when weak white candidates get an interview no one cries about that to the same extent.”

What was the point of saying that? It has nothing to do with the subject. Do you really not see how that could be viewed as racist? Could you please quote something that I said that made you believe I was a member of the klu klux klan? Or, did you just threw that out there because you were losing the fucking argument.. just look at the very first reply to this open invitation to engage and you had to bring race up again. You sir, have a problem with racism and this is the point you lose the argument and we are done.
No I actually didnt bring up race first. You did.

Rooney rule and DEI needs to be gone by next offseason, This is getting embarrassing.

Post 2681
At this point, does anyone support the Rooney rule? I think it’s a complete disgrace. I mean, I get it Mike Tomlin was a RR hire, but he was a NFL DC on the rise and already had a SB ring as a DB coach. That is outlier interview the rest of the interviews are completely failing to meet the purpose.

The post of mine you cited was over 100 posts after yours as it was post 2784
But there is no way to prove your assertion. This becomes a case where you cry about the Rooney rule anytime you feel someone is a weaker candidate or you claim the Rooney Rule isnt the reason Poles or Brad Holmes got a job because well they would have been interviewed anyways. Ignoring of course they may have been one of those weaker candidates in a previous hiring cycle who got an interview and feedback which helped prepare them for the job they did get.

What makes the crying even dumber is the Bears have interviewed a bunch of weaker white candidates but when weak white candidates get an interview no one cries about that to the same extent. Or let me guess you think the Iowa St coach is a fine candidate?
To pretend you crying about DEI isnt invoking race when DEI stands for Diversity (ie race) is disingenuous. You and dumbasses like @dabears70 were crying about the Rooney Rule while I was sleeping. I woke up and saw you crying about it and commented.

I can find no post of yours complaining about the white candidates with no shot that got an interview. So imagine denigrating black candidates getting chances and then when I draw a parrallel to weak white candidates suddenly I am racist. And then talking dumb shit about open invitation after you called me racist. You came at me sideways. Dont cop pleas now.

He also said that Tom Brady only got part ownership with the Raiders because he is white.
No that is not what I said at all. He has 5% ownership because he is rich and paid for it. Duh!
Lol Brady is why DEI exists. Got a broadcasting job he is unqualified for and has no executive experience to speak of but now suddenly he is head of football operations. There is no scenario in a pure meritocracy where he would get either job.
This has nothing to do with ownership. I made fun of Brady getting a broadcasting job when it is obvious he sucks ass at it and essentially being given a head of football operations role when he knows **** all about running a team.

It was stupid for the media and dumbasses like @Montucky to think being a QB for 20 years made him qualified to be a footbal exec. The dumbass was praised for firing a perfectly fine GM to try and woo Johnson while people made fun of DEI hires Ryan Poles and Kevin Warren being kept and yet they just gangbanged Brady like he was a newbie pornstar in a new BBC movie.

And to take it further, why is it some of the same people crying about George paying his dues for 4 years as a Head Coach at a small school and getting an opportunity to interview for HC were praising Brady with zero football exec experience being put in charge of the Raiders search? What made him qualified for that role? I would say George is far more qualified to being the HC of the Bears than Brady was qualified to be put in charge of running a football team because he at least had 4 years as a HC. Brady couldnt even run his household much less a football team.
