It's a whole bunch of meh right now outside of a few names

- Weaver
- Kafka
- Petzing
- Thomas Brown
- Arthur Smith
- Brian Flores
- Mike McCarthy
- Todd Monken
- Ben Johnson
- Aaron Glenn
- Vrabel

Outside of BJ I think most fans will be unhappy with whoever they get. Even Vrabel would make a lot unhappy and I think he’s top 2 or 3 candidates for this year

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
It's a myth that the Bears had a short list last hiring cycle too - they pulled the same shit last time. Everyone is confusing the finalists with the whole list.

Bears gonna Bears.

Why do the Bears always over correct? Last go round they rushed through hiring a coach and only inteviewed a few coaches. This time they are interviewing everyone possible.

I was just told earlier today that they cast a wide net last time also. Why are we so damn worried about the number of candidates as if there’s some exact number that must be correct? Get the right coach.

Also you guys should chill, it's an online interview. Basically a screening.

Johnson should clearly be 1A. Will he be a good HC? I have no idea, but he's the best offensive mind around right now.

I'd be OK with Vrabel - not my first choice and not sexy, but maybe just maybe what the Bears need?

Liam Cohen would be my 'outside the box' hire, but I think the Bears have had enough of those.

Fans would be unhappy if they hired Vrabel, and they will be unhappy when New England hires Vrabel preventing the bears from doing so. We’ve seen this before.

I had heard some speculation that if Tampa had lost and missed the playoffs that they might “Lovie“ Todd Bowles and promote Liam Cohen. I think it was just someone’s idea, but I didn’t think it was crazy.

I mean, I don't think people getting a little miffed is out of line.

Good teams have an idea of what direction they want to go in. Usually their lists tops are 5-7 names and usually less, and you see a common theme with those lists.

Bears interview everyone under the sun because they are rudderless. Even if it is an online screening, George keeps insisting on this and its so damn stupid.

It’s interesting that a lot of fans want them to discover the next up-and-coming hot candidate before he is

This is completely pulled out of thin air. There is no set number of candidates that teams generally interview as if it’s cookie cutter. And you don’t have any clue how many interviews each team had during the last cycle of hiring.

Considering many of the coaches that get hired ultimately get fired, I don’t think there’s a set way to do it that guarantees success is there?

I'm looking at this paltry list of offensive guys - Monken, Arthur Smith, Petzing? Gross.

I think if Johnson is somehow unavailable, I'd put Liam above all of those guys in a heartbeat.

I want absolutely nothing to do with Arthur Smith.
